During the National Day holiday on September 2, when many people were gathering with their families, construction sites at projects in Dong Nai were still bustling with the sound of machinery reverberating day and night.

Delays due to land acquisition and lack of sand and soil have caused major projects such as the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, Cai River Road, and Bien Hoa Central Axis Road to be behind schedule.

Contractors are forced to utilize every meter of land, every day and hour to work throughout the festival, regardless of rain or shine.

At the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project through Dong Nai, many packages have only completed from 1% to more than 20% of the progress.

During holidays, the atmosphere at the construction site becomes even more bustling with hundreds of workers and engineers concentrating on making steel, digging, compacting and treating the ground at many locations.

Worker Nguyen Van Tuan (from Quang Nam) shared that because his house is far away and he is worried about heavy traffic during the holidays, he decided to stay and work to earn extra income.

“Despite the unpredictable weather, the brothers here still encourage each other to try their best. The ceremony is fun, between shifts, we also take the time to eat, chat, and encourage each other,” said Mr. Tuan.

Not far away, at the Nhon Trach bridge construction site of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, the progress has been over 82%, more than 2 months ahead of schedule.

However, the contractors were determined to complete this project 4 months early, so they mobilized many engineers, workers and machinery to work during the holidays.

Nhon Trach Bridge consists of 39 piers, of which the main bridge has 5 piers and 4 spans. Currently, workers are focusing on constructing cantilevers, installing girder spans, and constructing bridge piers.

The weather is unpredictable, although it is hard, everyone is enthusiastic about their work.

As for the approach road and component project section 3 of the 11.2km long beltway 3 through Dong Nai, workers are also busy rolling and digging the roadbed.

In addition, in some sections through Long Tan commune, thanks to the early availability of land, workers are grading crushed stone on the road.

Not only stopping at key projects, a series of other projects such as Thong Nhat Bridge, Cai River road, Bien Hoa central axis road, and Dong Nai river embankment are also racing against time.

Despite facing many difficulties due to lack of sand and land clearance, construction units still continuously deploy many shifts to speed up progress.

Road rollers, excavators, bulldozers, and personnel are constantly operating, emphasizing the determination to complete projects on schedule, creating a new look for Dong Nai.
