Previously, the press reported that the Principal of Thi Tran Secondary School arbitrarily sent people to move the school's desks, chairs, and equipment to a new location, more than 3km away from the old location.

At the meeting, Ms. Mai Thuy Oanh - Deputy Head of the District Education and Training Department said that due to the time to prepare for the new school year being near, the school's facilities at the old location were seriously degraded and not guaranteed, so it was necessary to move to a new location.

"If we don't transfer schools now, preparations for the new school year will be difficult," said Ms. Oanh.

Ms. Oanh affirmed that the school transfer was a policy, and the District People's Committee had issued documents directing the implementation. However, regarding the process, the Department of Education and Training was still slow in implementing it.

The Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training admitted that the Principal of Thi Tran Secondary School arbitrarily transferred facilities without official instructions from the Department and the District People's Committee, which was against regulations.

Another problem that the press reported was that when moving to the new location, the school was located on Highway 63, with heavy traffic and unsafe conditions.

According to Ms. Oanh, in fact, the new location is separate from residential areas, has convenient traffic, creating the best conditions for teachers to teach and students to study with peace of mind.

"The locality is preparing a report to the Department of Transport and the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee for support in installing speed bumps and speed reduction signals. When completed, it will contribute to ensuring traffic safety for students and people," said Ms. Oanh.

Public opinion is also concerned about the information that the cost of moving the school's facilities from the old location to the new location is 2.8 billion VND. The leader of the Department of Education and Training affirmed that, up to now, this unit has not submitted a budget proposal to the District People's Committee for consideration and the district has not yet commented on this issue.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Huynh Ngoc Nguyen said that the principal arbitrarily transferred the facilities because the school year was approaching and he was "impatient" about the students' learning conditions. Therefore, the principal ordered the transfer of facilities without an official document.

"We will handle the principal's mistakes according to the law," Mr. Nguyen affirmed.

Mr. Nguyen added that in the coming time, the District People's Committee will continue to direct the Department of Education and Training and relevant sectors to urgently complete documents and procedures for school transfers, ensuring time for the new school year 2024 - 2025.

At the same time, the district also regularly propagates and encourages parents to feel secure in sending their children to study at the new location.
