ANTD.VN - After 4 years of suspending face-to-face meetings due to the Covid-19 pandemic, on September 14, 2023, the World Instant Noodles Association (WINA) decided to hold a Food Safety Committee conference at the Saigon Prince Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City. This is the first time the Association has held a conference in Vietnam. Acecook Vietnam is the only representative of Vietnam to attend this conference.

At the conference, members shared and discussed many important issues related to current food safety risks and future response solutions. This is an extremely urgent issue that greatly affects the development of the entire instant noodle industry.
Representing the guests, Mr. Yamasaki Takeshi - President of the Japan Society for Food Safety and Security Science (SFSS) shared an extremely necessary issue that all members are interested in with the topic of Smart and effective communication about food safety risks to worried consumers.

One of the important contents of this conference is that members reviewed the progress of implementing some of the industry's sustainability commitments made at the 10th Summit taking place in August 2022, focusing on 4 areas: Nutrition and health, Environmental sustainability, Food safety and Solving other social issues.
These are all commitments to contribute to enhancing the value of the instant noodle industry in the new era, making important contributions to the development of society. The members also shared the progress of their goals after one year of implementation and reaffirmed that the entire industry will continue to focus on these four priority areas.

The World Instant Noodles Association was established in March 1997. There are 132 member enterprises from 23 countries and regions. Of these, 13 enterprises act as executive members (governors), 2 are special members (China Institute of Food Science and Technology, Japan Convenience Food Industry Association).
Since its establishment, WINA has had many practical activities contributing to promoting the development of the industry such as: Providing information related to improving the quality and ensuring food safety for instant noodles; Collecting and providing necessary information for member businesses, for example, information on the demand for instant noodles in countries around the world...

In addition, WINA also conducts communication activities to increase the demand for instant noodles; Organizes summits to exchange opinions among members of the Association and disseminate information; Organizes meetings around the topic of food safety and food support through the provision of instant noodles.
Acecook Vietnam became a member of WINA in August 2011 and was appointed as a Governors. In addition to Acecook Vietnam, Nissin Foods Vietnam and VIFON are also regular members of this Association.
Vietnam is one of the countries with the highest demand for instant noodles in the world. This demand is still on the rise every year. Notably, according to WINA's 2022 data, Vietnam's total demand for instant noodles ranks 3rd in the world (about 8.5 billion packs), and ranks 1st in the world in terms of the number of packs consumed per capita (on average, each Vietnamese person eats 85 packs of noodles/year).
