Kinhtedothi - On December 12, Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's Decision approving Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to hold the position of Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025.
At the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Do Trong Hung announced Decision No. 1729-QDNS/TW dated December 4, 2024 of the Politburo approving Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025.
On behalf of the Politburo, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission Le Minh Hung presented the Decision and flowers to congratulate Mr. Dong Van Thanh on his new responsibility.
Speaking at the assignment, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Organization Commission Le Minh Hung emphasized that Mr. Dong Van Thanh is a well-trained cadre, matured from the grassroots; and has held many positions.
Mr. Dong Van Thanh is assessed by the Politburo as a capable, experienced cadre who is close to the grassroots; in all his positions, he always completes his tasks well and excellently; and contributes to the overall achievements of the agency, unit, and locality where he works. The Politburo believes that with his experience and commitment to Hau Giang province, Mr. Dong Van Thanh will excellently complete the assigned tasks.
The Head of the Central Organizing Committee requested the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, all levels and sectors of Hau Giang province to continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, unity, sharing, support, assistance and create conditions for Mr. Dong Van Thanh in his position as Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee to focus on leading and directing the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 14th Hau Giang Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025; most importantly, to unite and strive to bring Hau Giang to further development in the coming time.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dong Van Thanh - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province thanked the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Central Organizing Committee, and central agencies for their attention and trust in assigning the task.
"With the responsibility of being the head of the province, I will strive to continue to learn, be open-minded, try my best to be dedicated, and quickly approach new tasks; inherit the achievements and valuable experiences of my predecessors; vow to use all my ability and intelligence, join hands with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Party Committee to build a strong political system that operates effectively and efficiently for the prosperity and happiness of the people." - Mr. Dong Van Thanh emphasized.
Mr. Dong Van Thanh, born on June 24, 1969, hometown Phong Dien district, Can Tho city. Professional qualification: bachelor of sociology, political qualification: senior.
In 2004, when Hau Giang province and Can Tho city were separated, Mr. Dong Van Thanh held the position of Vice Chairman of Chau Thanh A District People's Committee.
In June 2007, he was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Chief of the Office of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee. In May 2011, Mr. Thanh was appointed to the position of Chief of the Office of the Provincial Party Committee.
In August 2014, at the 9th session of the 8th term of the People's Council of Hau Giang province, Mr. Dong Van Thanh was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2011-2016 term. In October 2015, he was appointed to hold the position of Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province.
In October 2020, at the 18th session of the 9th term of Hau Giang Provincial People's Council, term 2016 - 2021, Mr. Thanh was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
