Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Chi Thuong (right cover) visited and supervised the implementation of the free measles vaccination campaign for children aged 1-10 on the morning of September 17 at VNVC District 8 (HCMC).
On the morning of September 17, Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Chi Thuong - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health - and his delegation went to the VNVC Vaccination Center in District 8 (Pham The Hien Street, Ward 6, District 8) to inspect the vaccination work in the measles vaccination campaign.
VNVC District 8 is one of 39 VNVC vaccination centers across the city participating in the measles vaccination campaign for children aged 1-10 years old taking place from September 16.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Chi Thuong highly appreciated VNVC's experience in implementing safe vaccination for many years and its quality vaccination service. He assessed that VNVC's active support would contribute to promoting the city's measles vaccination campaign to be successful.
According to Mr. Thuong, VNVC has modern, clean and spacious facilities, especially the safe vaccination process complies with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health. VNVC has a good screening and post-vaccination emergency treatment process, people can go to centers like VNVC for safe vaccination, increasing the effectiveness of the campaign.
VNVC has a mobile cold storage system equipped with a backup generator, always ensuring that vaccines are transported and stored under standard conditions.
According to Dr. Bach Thi Chinh - Medical Director of VNVC Vaccination System, on the first day of VNVC implementing the measles vaccination campaign in Ho Chi Minh City, nearly 200 children were vaccinated with MRVAC measles vaccine for free, mainly in outlying districts such as District 12, Binh Tan, Hoc Mon, Binh Chanh, Cu Chi...
Previously, from the beginning of September 2024 until now, 39 VNVC vaccination centers in Ho Chi Minh City have injected more than 30,000 doses of measles vaccine for children under 10 years old, this is a very meaningful number contributing to Ho Chi Minh City's campaign to control and repel the measles epidemic this year.
In addition to free measles vaccination, parents can also give their children other important vaccines such as flu vaccine, meningitis vaccine, chickenpox vaccine, pneumococcal vaccine, hepatitis AB vaccine, etc. VNVC still applies the support of "inject first, pay later" with interest-free installment payments for up to 12 months.
Many parents take advantage of their lunch break and after school hours to bring their children to get free measles vaccinations at VNVC.
Taking her child Nguyen Ngoc Thuy (6 years old) to get a free measles vaccine, Ms. Kim Anh (Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City) said that when she heard that VNVC was offering free measles vaccine, she decided to register for additional vaccination for her child.
She said that her child had previously received a measles shot at the health station when he was young, but then because of work, the family forgot about his vaccination schedule.
"VNVC is very close to my home and my child's school, and the facility ensures safe vaccinations, so it's easy for my family to arrange lunchtime to take my child for vaccinations. My child gets free vaccinations but is still served attentively like a regular customer of VNVC. Not only do I feel secure, I'm also very satisfied," said Ms. Kim Anh.
With many years of experience in vaccination from a leading reputable vaccination system, VNVC is the main service unit with Ho Chi Minh City to provide free measles vaccination for children aged 1-10 years old to accelerate vaccination coverage and shorten the outbreak period.
VNVC has the advantage of a system of cold storage, cold chain, professional vaccine transport refrigerated trucks and nearly 2,000 doctors, nurses, and staff of 39 VNVC centers in Ho Chi Minh City participating in the campaign and paying special attention to ensuring safe vaccination, achieving high efficiency in preventing measles in addition to meeting the target of vaccine coverage.
VNVC has invested heavily in a system of 4 general warehouses, nearly 200 cold storages for preserving vaccines that meet GSP standards according to international standards, along with strict quality control and monitoring systems.
In addition to providing free measles vaccination, the VNVC system currently has nearly 200 vaccination centers nationwide and 39 centers in Ho Chi Minh City, all of which have full range of vaccines to prevent measles as well as other dangerous diseases in children and adults.
VNVC also has a combination vaccine for measles, mumps, and rubella, including Priorix (Belgium) and MMR II (USA), which increases the effectiveness of preventing many diseases in one injection and saves costs, reducing the number of vaccinations. These vaccines can be given to children from 9 months of age and adults.
Doctor Chinh said that in addition to supporting the measles vaccination campaign, VNVC also strives to provide all types of vaccines in the context of complicated epidemic developments, frequent rains and floods from now until the end of the year, causing many diseases to be at risk of outbreak such as flu, chickenpox, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, etc.
VNVC is applying many preferential price policies to help people prevent diseases in time, especially poor families and children in special circumstances.
VNVC is also a pioneer vaccination unit that supports pre-vaccination packages, paying later for up to 12 months, with all interest supported by VNVC, helping people pay flexibly, reducing economic burden.
