Thousands of people on Tri Nguyen and Hon Tam islands have had their water supply cut off.

On June 28, Khanh Hoa Water Supply and Sewerage Joint Stock Company announced that the sea pipeline supplying water to Tri Nguyen Island in Nha Trang Bay was broken. Therefore, the company temporarily stopped supplying water to Tri Nguyen Island and Hon Tam Island, Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City to fix the problem.

About 3,000 people on Tri Nguyen Island were affected by the incident of the cross-sea water pipeline.

According to Khanh Hoa Water Supply and Sewerage Joint Stock Company, fixing the problem with the cross-sea pipeline is very difficult, complicated, and may take a long time. The company hopes customers will sympathize, and the unit will focus resources to fix the problem as soon as possible.

In the immediate future, to partly meet the water needs of the people on Tri Nguyen Island, the company will use boats and ships to transport clean water from the mainland to the island. Clean water will be provided to the people at Tri Nguyen wharf during the water supply outage.

Tri Nguyen Island is located on Nha Trang Bay, about 6 km from the center of Nha Trang City, with 3 residential groups and about 3,000 people living there. Meanwhile, Hon Tam Island mainly serves the tourist areas in the east and west.
