Thousands of Vietcombank Hai Duong customers update account biometrics

On Sundays November 24 and December 1, people can go to Vietcombank Hai Duong headquarters or transaction offices to update biometrics and new identification information.

On Sundays November 24 and December 1, Vietcombank Hai Duong implemented a plan to strengthen guidance and support people in updating biometrics and adjusting information on new identification documents to replace expired documents.

This bank is simultaneously implementing at its branch headquarters at 66 Nguyen Luong Bang (Hai Duong City) and 9 affiliated transaction offices, including: Truong Chinh (Hai Duong City), Gia Loc, Tu Ky, Ninh Giang, Thanh Mien, Nam Sach, Thanh Ha, Phuc Dien (Cam Giang), Binh Giang.

Of the more than 400,000 customers using e-banking services (accounting for 60% of total customers) of Vietcombank Hai Duong, more than 200,000 customers have updated their biometric information since the end of June 2024 (to be eligible to transfer money from the banking application with an amount of over VND 10 million/transaction or over VND 20 million/day from July 1).

50% of customers using Vietcombank Hai Duong's e-banking account service have not updated their biometric information.

The remaining customers are mainly workers in industrial parks who do not need to transfer more than 10 million VND via the app.

On the morning of November 24 alone, 90% of customers present at the headquarters updated their biometrics, the rest updated their new identification information.

According to Hai Duong Newspaper reporters, from early morning on November 24, thousands of people came to Vietcombank Hai Duong headquarters and transaction offices. 90% of them updated their biometrics, the rest updated their identity documents.

According to the provisions of the 2023 Law on Identification, the national identity card (including 9-digit and 12-digit types) is valid for use in procedures and transactions until December 31, 2024.

According to Circular 17/2024/TT-NHNN and Circular 18/2024/TT-NHNN of the State Bank, from January 1, 2025, payment account holders/bank card holders will be suspended from performing online transactions (money transfers, bill payments, deposits, etc.) and transferring/withdrawing money at ATMs if they have not updated biometric information and/or have not updated new information to replace expired identification documents (ID card, CCCD, passport, visa).

To avoid disruption of banking transactions, people and businesses using banking services need to check and promptly update biometric information and new identification documents to replace expired documents.
