Thousands of leather shoe workers come to the company and then leave.

Thousands of workers of Viet Glory Company Limited in Dien Chau District, Nghe An Province arrived at the company this morning (October 3) but refused to go into the factory to work. They gathered outside the gate and continued to demand their rights.

Regarding the above incident, Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation and Dien Chau district authorities worked with workers' representatives and business leaders to grasp their aspirations and immediate solutions.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 2, nearly 6,000 workers of Viet Glory Company Limited stopped working, asking the management to answer a number of issues such as increasing basic salary, reviewing the attitude of company staff, adjusting meeting times, and setting output too high...

According to the Nghe An Labor Federation, the company has committed to adjusting and amending 3/8 of the workers' requests.

Specifically, a representative of Viet Glory replied that the company will adjust the working attitude of all foreign and Vietnamese staff, and any individual who violates will be disciplined according to the company's regulations. In the coming time, the company will strengthen staff training.

Female workers in their 7th month of pregnancy are allowed to leave 1 hour early. The current regulation the company is implementing is in accordance with the law.

The company will direct the technical department to re-check the timekeeping equipment, if there is a problem, it will be fixed immediately. Workers who cannot clock in must notify the HR department to write a compensation application.

Regarding the minimum wage in region III of Dien Chau district, which is 3,640,000 VND, the company's current basic salary is 4,130,000 VND, higher than the regional basic salary, in accordance with regulations. Considering the current situation, the company cannot adjust the salary increase, the management hopes that the workers will sympathize and share.

“The company will adjust meeting times to suit the production situation. If there are meetings scheduled outside of working hours, overtime will be calculated according to regulations. In addition, the number of workers receiving heavy toxic work benefits will be increased” - information from the Nghe An Labor Federation.

After responding to the petition, the company's leaders and the Dien Chau District Labor Federation directly mobilized and called on workers to come to work.

“From collecting workers' petitions, the interdisciplinary working group worked with the employer to review and request the company to resolve workers' petitions in accordance with legal regulations and issue a notice of resolution,” informed the Nghe An Labor Federation.

However, disagreeing with the response from the business, on the morning of October 3, the situation of gathering crowds continued to occur in front of the gate of Viet Glory Company Limited. Workers still have not returned to work.

Viet Glory footwear manufacturing and processing factory located in Dien Truong commune, Dien Chau district was established in 2019, with an expected capacity of 25 million products/year, 100% foreign investment capital.
