TPO - The project to preserve, restore, and promote the value of Hai Van Quan relic has been adjusted to the end of the second quarter of 2024. Currently, the relic site is entangled with a 22kV power line that has not been buried underground and relocated, so some items cannot be constructed yet.

According to the plan, the project to preserve, restore, and promote the value of Hai Van relic will be completed and welcome visitors by the end of 2023. However, up to now, the special National Monument on the top of Hai Van Pass, bordering Da Nang City and Thua Thien-Hue Province, is still fenced off, prohibiting "unauthorized persons" from entering. Visitors to the top of Hai Van Pass can only stand on the roadside and look inside the relic.

According to the investigation, the project is behind schedule partly because the power line of the Hai Van Pass transformer station that carries electricity to the radio station's transmitter and receiver station on the top of Hai Van Pass has not been buried underground and relocated. This power line crosses National Highway 1A and passes by the Hai Van Quan relic site, which has been carrying electricity to the transmitter and receiver station above the relic site for decades.

Currently, in the Hai Van Quan relic area, there are 3 electric poles with power lines that have not been buried underground, although the underground road system through National Highway 1A, through the relic area, has been completed.

The slow relocation of the electric poles has left the construction projects unfinished. The relic restoration contractor said that 95% of the project has been completed. The contractor is currently speeding up the progress of the remaining projects to complete the project as soon as possible.

Lien Chieu District Electricity has also announced a power outage schedule so that the construction unit of the underground power line package of the project can carry out the remaining work.

Meanwhile, the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City said that it is actively coordinating with the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to speed up the project. Immediately after the medium-voltage power line running through the monument was buried underground, the two sides continued to coordinate to speed up some remaining items and at the same time held working sessions to discuss management, exploitation, tourism services, and economic development plans between the two localities.
