The world's most majestic pass is 'revived'

Hai Van Pass, known as "the most majestic pass in the world", with its majestic natural beauty and important military strategic position.

Located at an altitude of 490 m on the Hai Van mountain range, the Hai Van Quan relic is an impressive military citadel architectural work, considered one of the most majestic passes in Vietnam. The location of the relic is about 90 km south of the center of Hue city, about 28 km north of the center of Da Nang city.

Hai Van Quan has many cultural and historical values, is a famous scenic spot, and makes an important contribution to the tourism development of the two localities in particular and the Central region in general. With the role as a landmark connecting the two tourist regions of the North and South Central regions, this relic has unique historical and architectural values, and was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national historical and architectural relic since July 14, 2017.

Through the ups and downs of history, Hai Van Quan has witnessed many fierce battles in the struggle to protect the country. This relic has also been heavily affected by harsh climatic conditions and has seriously degraded.

Recognizing the value of Hai Van Quan, on December 19, 2021, the authorities of the two localities of Da Nang and Thua Thien - Hue "joined hands" to implement a project to preserve, restore, and promote the value of the national relic Hai Van Quan, with each locality contributing 50% of the budget.
