Import and export goods clear customs normally

From March 15, 2025, together with the entire Customs sector, the Customs Sub-Department of Region II will operate under a new organizational model. According to our observations at the port gate in the first days of operation, import and export goods of enterprises are cleared quickly, and any arising problems are immediately supported and resolved for enterprises.

Having just completed the procedures for exporting a shipment of clothing to Thailand, Mr. Vu Quy Ninh, Minh Phong Hop Nhat Company Limited shared: “In addition to the 2 export shipments today, on March 15, our company also completed the procedures for exporting 2 seafood shipments and importing 2 shipments through Cat Lai port. All import and export shipments have gone through normal customs clearance procedures, and there have been no problems arising from the Customs agency operating under the new organizational model.”

Not only is it convenient for export goods, businesses importing goods through Cat Lai port said they have not encountered any problems with customs procedures. However, some businesses encountered problems with the Treasury code when carrying out tax payment procedures, but with the support of the Customs agency, these problems were immediately resolved.

A representative of Cyn Company Limited said that on March 15, the company opened an import declaration for a shipment of chemicals from Thailand to Cat Lai port. The declaration and customs procedures did not encounter any problems, but the tax payment was stuck at the Treasury. Thanks to the support of the Customs Department, this problem was immediately resolved and the goods were cleared normally.

According to Mr. Bui Tan Nam, Deputy Captain of Saigon Port Customs Area 1, implementing the direction of the leaders of the Customs Department and the Customs Sub-Department Area II, during the past two days, Saturday and Sunday, all officers and employees in the unit worked normally to deploy activities according to the new organizational model, and at the same time support customs clearance of import and export goods for businesses.

In the first 2 days of operation under the new model, the unit received 1,064 import-export declarations from enterprises transmitted on the automatic customs clearance system. Of these, over 700 declarations from enterprises completed procedures and were cleared by the Customs authority on the same day.

Resolve any issues that arise immediately

To ensure the stable implementation of the functions and tasks of the Customs sector under the new model, limit arising problems, and ensure convenience for goods clearance activities, recently, the Customs Department and the Customs Sub-Department of Region II have issued a number of documents directing and guiding the implementation.

At the same time, Saigon Port Customs Area 1 proactively arranged officers and civil servants to support and guide businesses in resolving any problems that arise.

To promptly answer questions related to operations during the process of restructuring the unit's organizational structure, the Customs Branch of Region II has established a 20-member Question and Answer Team.

The Question and Answer Team is headed by a Deputy Head of the Customs Branch of Region II and 9 members are leaders of staff units under this Branch.

In addition, there is a Support Team of 10 members who are civil servants from the unit's staff units.

The task of the Question and Answer Team: to assist the Director in receiving and resolving questions and problems arising from the operations of the units during the process of restructuring the organizational structure of the Customs Branch of Region II to ensure that it does not affect the implementation of political tasks according to the functions and tasks of each unit, and to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the new unit's operations.

At the same time, the Q&A Team is the focal point for working and reporting to the Boards and Teams of superior agencies regarding problems arising beyond their handling authority.

According to Mr. Bui Tan Nam, on March 15, 2025, the Customs Department updated the names of the border gate and border gate Customs according to the new organization, so it is convenient for businesses to carry out customs procedures, and there are currently no problems arising in the process of carrying out customs procedures.
