More than 22,000 trees fell
Hai Phong City People's Committee has just held a meeting regarding the collection and reconstruction of broken and fallen trees after storm No. 3 in the city.
At the meeting, according to the report of the Department of Construction of Hai Phong City, the total number of trees broken and affected by storm No. 3 in the districts was about 22,030 trees.
Specifically, Hai An, Le Chan, Ngo Quyen, Hong Bang districts had about 16,340/31,000 trees. Of which, about 2,510 street trees were uprooted, about 1,720 trees had broken trunks and roots (could not be replanted due to insufficient trunk height of 15cm, about 5,970 trees; shade trees in flower gardens, parks, median strips, and traffic intersections were affected about 6,140 trees.
Hai Phong Green Park Joint Stock Company is coordinating with other units to collect and rebuild trees that fell after storm No. 3.
Do Son and Duong Kinh districts have about 4,290/12,000 trees; of which about 500 cannot be replanted due to insufficient trunk height.
Kien An District about 1,400/8,000 trees; of which about 940 shade trees were broken or felled (about 400 trees could not be replanted due to insufficient trunk height).
In the area of 4 central districts of the city, Hai Phong Green Park Joint Stock Company has arranged human resources and means to clear broken and uprooted branches and trees; collect and transport branches and leaves; and replant fallen and uprooted trees.
In Kien An district, Hai Phong Construction and Public Works Joint Stock Company arranged human resources and means to clear broken and uprooted branches and trees; collect and transport branches and leaves; and replant fallen and uprooted trees.
Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung chaired a meeting on collecting and re-erecting broken and fallen trees after storm No. 3 in the city.
Do Son and Duong Kinh districts are being repaired by Hai Phong Public Works and Tourism Services Joint Stock Company.
As of noon on September 11, the units had cut branches and replanted a total of 6,315 trees; of which 4,905 were in the 4 central districts of the city; 730 were in Do Son and Duong Kinh districts; and 680 were in Kien An district.
It is expected that by the end of September 2024, the units will complete the work of planting, pruning, and supporting the stakes of the green tree system that has broken, fallen, tilted, or uprooted; in which priority will be given to planting and erecting uprooted trees to ensure completion before September 20.
After listening to the report and opinions at the meeting, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung acknowledged that the Departments, branches and units have coordinated with localities to concentrate maximum forces, means, machinery and equipment to collect and rebuild broken and fallen trees...
The Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee requested the Green Park Joint Stock Company to quickly replant fallen trees; prune branches and canopies to ensure balance and suitability to maximize the use of replanting on site and care according to regulations.
Hai Phong Urban Environment Company Limited maintains environmental sanitation, focuses on human resources and means to participate in collecting tree branches and leaves to ensure environmental sanitation and urban beauty.
Police and military forces coordinate with units to handle and clear fallen trees and broken branches; organize traffic flow on roads during the time of clearing fallen trees, ensuring traffic order and safety, avoiding traffic congestion.
The Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee noted that sectors and units pay attention to ensuring absolute safety while performing their tasks.
Van My apartment complex in Van My ward, Ngo Quyen district, Hai Phong city has tilted and seriously degraded. The city is planning to support households to move to new housing.
Support 3 million/month for households moving out of dangerous houses
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Director of the Department of Construction of Hai Phong City, said that the city currently has 75 level D apartment buildings (seriously degraded, at risk of collapsing at any time, uninhabitable), but they are home to 2,660 households.
As Typhoon Yagi was about to make landfall, the Hai Phong City People's Committee evacuated these households to temporary shelters.
After the storm, apartment buildings A7 and A7 in Van My ward tilted, making it unsafe for residents to live in.
Therefore, the Hai Phong City Party Committee decided to approve the policy and assign the City People's Committee to develop a process to implement not allowing households who used to live in level D apartments to return to their place of residence.
Residents at A7 and A8 Van My apartments draw lots to choose a temporary residence.
The city will arrange for households with ownership papers, policy families, and disadvantaged people to own 846 state-owned apartments in buildings HH1-HH2, HH3-HH4, D2 (Dong Quoc Binh, Ngo Quyen district), U19 Lam Son, Kenh Duong, Khuc Thua Du... The remaining households will be supported with 3 million VND/month to rent temporary housing for 24 months.
The Director of the Hai Phong City Department of Construction added that after the period of State support for house rent, households can buy or rent houses in social housing projects under construction. The Department has just announced the selling prices at social housing projects eligible for sale, about 14-19 million VND/m2.
Of these, three projects have had their prices approved, including the social housing area at 384 Le Thanh Tong; the new urban area project Hoang Huy NewCity and the Trang Due commercial service and worker housing urban area, priced at 14-18.8 million VND/m2. Two other projects in the center are in the process of requesting price appraisals from 17.6 - 19.5 million VND/m2.
In addition, Hai Phong also has 3 projects under implementation and 21 projects with investment policies or investors preparing to start construction, expected to be completed or have products on the market from now until 2030.
Implementing the direction of the City Party Committee and the People's Committee of Hai Phong City, on the afternoon of September 11, the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen District coordinated with Hai Phong Housing Management and Trading Company Limited to organize a lottery to move 87 households in A7 - A8 Van My apartment building to temporarily reside in the 5-storey Kenh Duong apartment building and the 5-storey Khuc Thua Du apartment building (first time).
Households will be arranged and assigned according to the principle of the actual number of people living in corresponding to the area of temporary housing apartments in groups A and B. The expected temporary residence period is 2 months.
Ngo Quyen District organized for 13 households with 5 or more members actually living in the old apartment buildings A7, A8 Van My to draw lots for 13/24 group A apartments with an area of 59m² in the 5-storey Kenh Duong apartment building. 74 households with 1-4 members actually living in the old apartment buildings A7, A8 Van My to draw lots for 74/76 group B apartments with an area of 37m² and 49m² in the 5-storey Kenh Duong apartment building.
