Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang said that Hai Duong is one of the pioneering provinces to issue a province-wide digital transformation policy and the first province in the country to have a digital transformation day. Hai Duong province has been focusing on implementing institutions and policies to reform administrative procedures associated with the application of information technology, building e-government, and moving towards digital government.
In particular, the province focuses on promoting the provision of investment information and handling of administrative procedures online, in order to improve the business environment, attract and facilitate businesses and investors to interact with state agencies via the electronic environment.
"In the coming time, Hai Duong will implement many separate policies to support businesses in the area such as: registering new establishments; policies to support trade promotion and industrial promotion; supporting training on the process of connecting banks and businesses, especially small and medium enterprises; and supporting interest rates," Mr. Thang affirmed.
By 2022, more than 98% of enterprises in Vietnam will be small and medium-sized. The big problem for small and medium-sized enterprises is how to keep up with the rapid and strong changes of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the world's digital economy. If we take advantage of the potential of digital transformation to promote the operations and business of small and medium-sized enterprises, not only organizations but also Vietnam's digital economy will have a major breakthrough.

At the workshop, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Hai Duong province Nguyen Minh Kha shared updated information on digital transformation recommendations for small and medium-sized enterprises according to the guidance of the Ministry of Information and Communications, introduced solution platforms recognized by the Ministry as well as platforms for assessing the digital maturity of enterprises.
“Promote the development of the digital economy with a focus on developing digital technology enterprises, shifting from assembly and processing of information technology to making digital technology products, Industry 4.0, developing digital content, creative industry, platform economy, sharing economy, e-commerce and smart manufacturing. Small and medium-sized enterprises need to determine the current status of the enterprise, then set digital transformation goals and find suitable directions, and finally design, select solutions and build an implementation roadmap,” Mr. Kha emphasized.
Head of General Planning Department - Hai Duong Department of Industry and Trade Vu Cong said that the application of information technology and digital transformation in enterprises is being strongly implemented.
The province has 266 digital technology enterprises, 187 digital platform enterprises, 8,330 small and medium enterprises accessing and participating in the program to support digital transformation of enterprises; the rate of enterprises paying electronic taxes reached 99.58%.

By identifying production and business establishments as the core force in implementing digital technology applications while the state plays a management role, establishing infrastructure and creating a development environment; along with solutions for developing digital transformation and digital economy, it will create favorable conditions for businesses to access and operate in the digital economic environment, promoting increasingly effective production and business activities of enterprises, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province as well as the whole country.
