Over the past time, Ha Tinh has always paid attention to maintaining, consolidating and tightening the friendship and comprehensive cooperation relationship with localities of the Lao PDR. In particular, Ha Tinh has always maintained and fostered the comprehensive cooperation relationship with Khammouane province; regularly exchanging high-level delegations to work, congratulate, and attend important events and holidays of the two sides.
Specifically, Ha Tinh supports businesses in signing memorandums of understanding to implement the construction of wood crushing and afforestation factories; cassava and cassava starch processing factories in districts of the two provinces: Bolikhamxay and Kham Muon. Ha Tinh also directs localities in the province to establish cooperative relations with localities of Laos such as: Ky Anh town with Khun Kham district (Kham Muon); Huong Khe district with Na Kai district (Kham Muon); Ha Tinh city with Pac Xan town (Bolikhamxay); Huong Son district and Vu Quang district with Kham Cot district (Bolikhamxay)...
Deputy Governor of Khammouane Province (Lao PDR) Som Sa At Un Si Da highly appreciated the comprehensive cooperative relationship with Ha Tinh province.
In addition, the border between Ha Tinh and the two provinces of Bolikhamxay and Khammouan is stable; agreements, decrees and regulations between Vietnam and Laos are effectively implemented. Ha Tinh is one of the localities that provides Vietnamese language and specialized training to the largest number of officials, students and pupils from Lao provinces in the country. Currently, there are nearly 800 Lao students studying in Ha Tinh.
Implementing the aid program, in 2022 - 2023, Ha Tinh province will support Bolikhamxay province to build a combined military-civilian infirmary in Xanaxay village, Pac Xan town (worth 8.3 billion VND); support Bolikhamxay province with 1.5 billion VND and Khammouane province with 500 million VND to build gratitude houses for people with revolutionary contributions; support sectors and localities of Laos province with cash and medical supplies to prevent and fight the COVID-19 epidemic with a total value of more than 4.5 billion VND...
In addition, Bolikhamxay province also supported the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Fund of Ha Tinh province with 10,000 USD; Khammouane province supported 20,000 USD and 5 tons of rice.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha proposed a number of contents and solutions to promote the long-term comprehensive cooperation relationship between Ha Tinh province and Khammouane province.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha emphasized: Ha Tinh always pays special attention to consolidating and tightening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with localities of the Lao PDR. In particular, Ha Tinh always preserves and cultivates comprehensive cooperation with the provinces of Khammouane and Savannakhet; expands cooperation with the capital Vientiane and the northern provinces of Laos; focuses on deepening the relationship between Ha Tinh and the diplomatic representative agency of the Lao PDR in Vietnam.
To promote the long-term comprehensive cooperation relationship, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha proposed that Khammouane province continue to effectively implement agreements, decrees, directives, and cooperation regulations; maintain meetings, exchanges, and coordination between the two sides to promptly resolve arising issues; contribute to maintaining political security and social order in the border area.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha also proposed that the two sides continue to develop priority policies on infrastructure investment for border districts; propose that competent authorities invest in building and upgrading infrastructure at border gate areas. Khammouane Province continues to propose that ministries and branches of the Lao Government coordinate with Vietnam and Thailand to soon include Road 8, Road 12 and Road 13 in the Greater Mekong Subregion Cross-Border Transport Agreement; create conditions for businesses to cooperate.
At the same time, Ha Tinh and Khammouane need to continue to propose to the Prime Ministers of the two countries to implement the content of investment cooperation in developing ports No. 1, 2, 3 of Vung Ang port according to the signed protocol and agreement; strengthen comprehensive cooperation activities in all fields... to strengthen solidarity between Ha Tinh and Khammouane in particular and Vietnam and Lao PDR in general.
On this occasion, leaders of Ha Tinh and Kham Muon provinces presented gifts and took souvenir photos.
Previously, a working delegation from Khammouane province (Lao PDR) visited Vung Ang port and a number of businesses operating in the Vung Ang Economic Zone.
