In early 2022, the Central Government issued a set of criteria for building new rural areas in a more advanced direction, aiming for in-depth development, improving the quality and effectiveness of the program.
Mr. Ngo Dinh Long - Deputy Chief of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office informed that the number of communes meeting the new rural area standards increased from 49 to 57; the set of criteria for advanced new rural areas increased from 15 to 19 criteria and from 41 to 75 criteria; there were 51 criteria with new content... In the process of reviewing the criteria, many localities encountered difficulties because the requirements were higher than the previous stage, but with political determination and drastic direction, Ha Tinh has achieved many more results, creating a premise for the roadmap to complete the task of building new rural areas at the provincial level in 2024.

In Duc Tho, in recent times, localities have closely followed the new criteria to develop implementation plans, both meeting immediate tasks and ensuring a sustainable strategy. Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat - Secretary of the Thanh Binh Thinh Commune Party Committee excitedly said: “From 2020 to now, the commune has mobilized people to donate 2,373 m2 of land, contributing 7,416 working days to construct works, expand roads to build advanced and model new rural areas. Thanks to that, up to now, the whole commune has 6,146 km of commune roads; 22,548 km of village and inter-village roads have been hardened; 25 km of alley roads have been hardened, ensuring light - green - clean - beautiful. The total mobilized budget for building new rural areas in this period reached more than 114 billion VND. In 2023, the commune was recognized as meeting the model new rural standards with outstanding fields in rural occupations, the highlight being the traditional Thai Yen carpentry village. The average local income reached 52.2 million VND/year.
