Hanoi forms unique tourism products to attract visitors

Hanoi continues to affirm itself as a safe, friendly, high-quality, and attractive tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists. According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the capital's tourism industry indicators have all grown by double digits since the beginning of 2024.

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in April 2024, the total number of tourists to Hanoi reached 2.52 million, an increase of 15% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international tourists are estimated at 638,000, an increase of 60% over the same period last year (including 450,000 international tourists with accommodation), domestic tourists are estimated at 1.89 million, an increase of 5% over the same period last year. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 10,347 billion, an increase of 26.2% over the same period in 2023.

There have been more than 2.2 million international visitors to Hanoi in the first four months of the year.

In the first 4 months of 2024, the total number of tourists to Hanoi reached 9.25 million, an increase of 14.2% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international tourists reached 2.22 million, an increase of 58.4% over the same period in 2023 (including 1.56 million international tourists with accommodation), domestic tourists are estimated at 7.033 million, an increase of 5% over the same period in 2023. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 37,237 billion, an increase of 24.8% over the same period in 2023.

Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that in 2024, the capital's tourism will focus on promoting cultural values and heritage associated with tourism, building the image of Hanoi as "Cultured - Civilized - Modern", "City for Peace"; "Creative City". Hanoi will form unique and attractive tourism products based on existing advantages and research and invest in developing new types of products associated with the advantages of each locality such as exploiting inland waterway tourism routes along the Red River, West Lake, Dong Mo Lake or developing agricultural tourism products, experiential tourism, sports tourism, etc.

After 16 special night tours of Hanoi were introduced, the capital's tourism industry is planning to expand the night tours in the suburbs of Hanoi. Proposing 2 night tourism products in the suburbs of Hanoi are a model of cultural and artistic performances, shopping, night entertainment, introducing culinary culture, and night food services in Dong Xuan commune (Quoc Oai district) and a model of Van Dinh culinary culture - Incense making village of Quang Phu Cau commune at the Van Dinh town commercial center (My Duc district) and Quang Phu Cau commune (Ung Hoa district).

The program "Happy Tet" contributes to promoting culture and cuisine to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

It is known that Hanoi also focuses on organizing events, programs, and festivals to promote tourism in the capital such as the Hanoi Tourism Festival 2024; the launching ceremony of the product "Community Tourism of Mien village" of Ba Vi commune, Ba Vi district, the program "Happy Tet 2024" with the contribution of many prestigious units such as Vietnam Kite Heritage Center, Hanoi Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation, Vietnam Ao Dai Club, Royal Chefs Association, Vietnam Chefs Association have contributed to the success of Hanoi tourism in the first 5 months of the year. Thereby, aiming to complete the goal of welcoming 27 million tourists to Hanoi in 2024, including 5.5 million international visitors; total revenue from tourists reached 109.41 trillion VND.
