Mr. Ma Tuan Trong, Commercial Director, Grab Vietnam, said: "Grab is improving technology to support merchant partners, especially micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to promote products and boost sales on the Grab platform".
"MSME merchants make up a significant part of Grab's business. We understand that within this group of merchants, merchants may be multi-tasking, from chefs, order takers, cashiers, and even marketers. They need a marketing tool that is easy to use, flexible, yet effective. Marketing Management is designed to meet these needs, easing the challenges that Grab's merchant partners face every day."
Grab accompanies restaurant partners
The latest tool introduced in the Marketing Manager feature is “Spotlight Campaigns”. With this tool, Grab will select and launch specially designed campaigns – usually running for a certain period of time – to support merchant partners to optimize visibility and improve advertising effectiveness on the Grab platform.
Through this tool, partners can “reserve” high-visibility locations on the Grab platform for their stores, increasing user reach and driving sales.
After a period of launch, the Marketing Management feature is receiving positive feedback from Grab's merchant partners. Grab's aggregated data in the first quarter of 2024 shows that more than 70% of merchant partners in Vietnam experienced this feature in the first month and continued to register to use the feature in the following month.
The launch of Grab’s Mobile Marketing Management feature for merchants is also in response to the mobile-first trend in Southeast Asia. By 2023, the number of smartphone users in Southeast Asia is forecast to increase by 4% year-on-year to 342.1 million, with a penetration rate of 88.9% of total internet users.
The Marketing Management feature is Grab's latest effort to enhance support for merchant partners in Vietnam to help them optimize operational efficiency. Previously, Grab rolled out the "Menu Translation" tool for the markets of Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore. Accordingly, the menu on GrabFood will be automatically translated into a number of popular languages to help GrabFood restaurant partners reach more foreign customers.
