The Management Board of the collective trademark “U Minh Ha Honey” affirms that honey businesses with labels and logos issued by the Intellectual Property Office are reputable establishments with quality certification.
Mr. Le Hong Thinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of U Minh District (Ca Mau Province) said that in order to orient the development of U Minh Ha honey, the People's Committee of the district held a meeting with departments, branches and organizations at the district level to announce the certification of the collective trademark "U Minh Ha Honey". At the same time, a decision was issued to establish a Collective Trademark Management Board responsible for granting and revoking certificates of the right to use the collective trademark "U Minh Ha Honey".
According to Mr. Thinh, the Management Board of the collective trademark “U Minh Ha Honey” is responsible for coordinating with relevant agencies to promote on media inside and outside the province. At the same time, it is integrated into meetings to promote propaganda within the Farmers’ Association system and related mass organizations about the registration and use of this collective trademark.

U Minh Ha honey (U Minh district, Ca Mau province) is a pure honey product, completely natural and has affirmed its quality in the market. However, currently on some social networking sites, many people are selling honey products without labels or origins but claiming to be "U Minh Ha honey". This will confuse customers and cause them to buy poor quality products, affecting this brand.
Mr. Do Hoai Bao (residing in U Minh town, U Minh district) has many years of experience in the U Minh Ha forest honey business. He said that the products he sells to the market are quality products, inspected and guaranteed to be safe. In particular, his pure honey products use a collective trademark logo issued by the Department of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology) and have a QR code for customers to trace their origin.
“I often sell honey on social networks and to acquaintances. Customers see that the honey has a brand, clear labels, and easy to trace its origin, so they trust and buy it and recommend it to their friends,” said Mr. Bao. According to Mr. Bao, on average, he sells 30-50 liters of honey to the market each month, sometimes up to 100-200 liters.

His honey source is purchased from local households specializing in beekeeping. These households have been licensed by the Department of Science and Technology of Ca Mau province to produce products with traceable origin.
“Genuine honey has a sweet taste but a slightly sour aftertaste. The shelf life of honey is usually 1-2 years. If left for too long, the honey will turn dark. After purchasing the honey, I send samples to the Department of Science and Technology of Ca Mau province for testing. If it meets the standards, it will be sold on the market. The price of U Minh Ha forest honey is currently around 500,000 VND/liter. Honey has the effect of improving health, supporting digestion, and purifying the body...”, said Mr. Bao.
U Minh district has a forest area of over 31,000 hectares, which is very favorable for the development of natural bee colonies for honey production. With the local potential, in 2011, U Minh district was granted a collective trademark certificate "U Minh Ha Honey" by the Intellectual Property Office. This event marked an important turning point for U Minh honey and honey products to gain a foothold in the market inside and outside the province, while opening up new opportunities for beekeepers in U Minh to develop and increase their income.
Mr. Pham Van Nhan, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of U Minh district, said that honey businesses using the logo of the collective brand managed by the district Farmers' Association are honey that meets quality standards. "To avoid buying fake, poor quality honey, consumers should choose to buy products at reputable establishments, the products must be labeled, use the collective brand "U Minh Ha Honey" and have a QR code to scan to look up the origin", Mr. Nhan recommended.
The U Minh District Farmers’ Association currently manages 24 honey businesses registered to use the “U Minh Ha Honey” brand and 33 households engaged in beekeeping with traceable origins. Every year, this locality supplies the market with about 70,000 - 80,000 liters of honey. All 24 businesses using the brand managed by the U Minh District Farmers’ Association trade in 100% natural, high-quality honey.

The People's Committee of U Minh district regularly directs relevant departments and units to inspect and control the use of trademarks to ensure the quality and reputation of goods and services. The locality also coordinates with functional departments to periodically inspect establishments registering to use collective trademarks, take samples to test and evaluate quality such as water content, food safety and hygiene, and carry out the process of granting and revoking certificates of the right to use the collective trademark "U Minh Ha Honey".
According to Vice Chairman of U Minh District People's Committee - Mr. Le Hong Thinh added: The locality regularly promotes, promotes trade, brings honey to fairs; designs product traceability codes; checks samples, analyzes, and monitors product quality. At the same time, it designs product labels to meet product labeling regulations to support the development of protected brands. Thereby strengthening the reputation and quality of U Minh honey to attract tourists, enhancing the value of honey in the market. The District People's Committee recommends that people do not reduce the quality of honey, which is considered a brand of U Minh land, for profit.
