The habit of online shopping, paying for purchases - eating at restaurants, paying for shipping by bank transfer via VietQR scanning comes from the need to minimize incorrect transfers when having to enter a series of bank account numbers, errors when filling in a lot of account holder information. Young people and office workers in big cities in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang are no longer unfamiliar with bank transfers by scanning VietQR codes because this method eliminates the disadvantages of traditional transfers, instead it is convenient, fast and accurate. Barriers of time or geography are also resolved by this method.
"I don't need to remember the account number or branch, the seller just needs to give me the VietQR code with the amount to pay, I use MoMo to scan the QR code, enter the amount and transfer the money. My friends are all like that, some of them even don't carry cash," Quynh Chi, a university student in Ho Chi Minh City, shared.
Not only Quynh Chi but also young people in urban areas, especially students and office workers, have switched from being familiar with to loving the VietQR scanning method for money transfer transactions because of its convenience and speed right on smartphones and MoMo because of the versatile and flexible scanning capabilities of this financial application, instead of having to log in to many different applications to scan each QR code of each bank.
According to data from the State Bank, in the first 9 months of 2023, payment methods via QR Code increased by 105.33% in quantity and 10.66% in value compared to the same period in 2022. For MoMo users, this financial application can scan all bank QR codes (VietQR) when making payments and transferring money.

Taking place for 3 days from November 30 to December 2, 2023 (time frame 10 - 16 hours every day), "Super QR Scanning Festival" treats users to millions of very practical discount cards from a variety of major brand chains loved by consumers along with tens of thousands of cash red envelopes worth up to 10 million VND. To receive a gift card, users only need to make a payment or transfer transaction on the MoMo application by scanning the Bank QR code (VietQR), or go to the "Offers" section on MoMo to collect gift cards.
"During economic hardship, I find that discount coupons may not be suitable for some people but are valuable to others. For office workers like us, saving a few tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of VND per day, accumulated over months, becomes a lot.
