An Phu Intersection (Thu Duc City) is one of the important traffic intersections in the eastern gateway area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City connecting the main roads Mai Chi Tho, Vo Nguyen Giap, Dong Van Cong,... and is the starting point of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.

Currently, this intersection is under construction of many items such as underpasses, overpasses... some sections of the road are narrowed by construction site barriers.

This is also the main reason why traffic in this area is congested during rush hours.

An Phu intersection always has a very high traffic density, especially container trucks. The construction of the 3-level intersection is being accelerated to complete the entire project by April 2025.

It is estimated that about 20,000 container trucks pass through here every day. According to drivers, the waiting time for the red light at this intersection is quite long, the red light from the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to the center of Ho Chi Minh City is long, causing the exit of this expressway from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City to be congested for a long time, which is normal.

Mai Chi Tho Street, from Dong Van Cong intersection to An Phu intersection, has become a "bottleneck", with traffic jams due to construction barriers occupying part of the road.

Mai Chi Tho Street is congested for more than 1km from Cat Lai intersection to An Phu intersection.

According to the project investor, the consulting unit and the investor are studying a plan to close the Mai Chi Tho - Dong Van Cong intersection for 4 months to synchronously construct the underpass and overpass here to shorten the project's progress.
