Duy Tan University lecturer with 2 Best Case Study awards at ISTTE Conference 2024

Five Vietnamese representatives, including staff, lecturers and scientists from Duy Tan University (DTU), attended the ISTTE 2024 Conference, which took place from October 14-16, 2024 at the School of Hotel & Tourism Management (SHTM), Hong Kong Polytechnic University - the world's top-ranked Tourism School for many consecutive years.

There were 5 reports by Duy Tan University scientists presented at the Conference and made a very good impression when 2 reports by Dr. Bui Kim Luan - Vice Principal of the School of Tourism (HTi), Duy Tan University and Dr. Nguyen Cong Minh, Head of the Postgraduate Department, Duy Tan University were awarded the Best Case Study Award. This is an outstanding achievement that further affirms the capacity and stature of Duy Tan University in research on the Tourism industry.

ISTTE 2024 is the 43rd annual conference organized by the International Society of Travel & Tourism Educators (ISTTE). This is a prestigious event that brings together educators and experts in the field of travel and tourism education from more than 25 countries and territories such as the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan (China).

With the theme "Changing the paradigm in hospitality/tourism education and research", the ISTTE 2024 Conference focuses on discussing major changes in the field of tourism education and research, opening up many perspectives and creative solutions to improve the quality of tourism education and training in the context of rapid globalization. With more than 50 reports from many prestigious universities and leading scholars in the world, this year's Conference has created a diverse academic environment, making it easy to share experiences, exchange and learn from each other.

Among the international delegates, Duy Tan University stood out as the only representative from Vietnam attending the conference, affirming the great strides of Vietnam’s tourism education in its efforts to integrate and reach out to the world. The research team of Duy Tan University prepared and brought 5 reports to the conference. The reports of Duy Tan University not only introduced unique new findings but also contributed many pioneering perspectives on new trends and methods of tourism education.

As a result, Duy Tan University's staff and lecturers were awarded 2 Best Case Study awards (out of 6 awards for the best reports at the Conference) with the following topics:

• Best Case Study 1 for the article "Mega-Events as Catalysts for Urban Regeneration" by Dr. Bui Kim Luan.
• Best Case Study 2 for the topic "Strategic Influencer Marketing to Affluent Millennials" by Dr. Nguyen Cong Minh.

This is an outstanding achievement considering the fact that the ISTTE Conference is always a gathering place for many leading scientists from major universities around the world. Duy Tan University is not only the sole representative from Vietnam, but also one of the rare units to win an award at the conference when it surpassed many other reports from other prestigious universities around the world.
