The 10th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Cup Open Table Tennis Tournament for Hanoi Clubs in 2023 will take place from November 9 to 12 at Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium with the participation of more than 60 units and more than 300 athletes.

Speaking at the press conference, Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi newspaper Nguyen Minh Duc said that with the increasing number of participating teams and athletes, the tournament has proven its attraction and is a necessary playground for table tennis lovers.

"In order to increase the attractiveness of the tournament, the Organizing Committee has set up 2 categories including advanced category and amateur category instead of category A and category B like previous seasons. In particular, the advanced men's team and advanced men's singles content stipulates that national team athletes, national reserve teams, and athletes who have entered the 8th round of men's singles of the 2023 national championship are all allowed to compete. This is also a new feature of this year's tournament to meet the needs of competition and improve the level of athletes" - Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc shared.

This year's tournament has 12 competition events including: Men's singles with leaders, advanced men's team, amateur men's team, advanced men's singles, amateur men's singles from 45 years old and above, amateur men's singles under 45 years old, women's singles from 45 years old and above, women's singles under 45 years old, men's doubles with leaders (paired to different units), mixed doubles over 45 years old (regardless of rank, paired to different units), mixed doubles under 45 years old (regardless of rank, paired to different units), women's doubles over 45 years old (regardless of rank, paired to different units). To ensure the progress of the tournament, the Organizing Committee stipulates that each athlete can only participate in a maximum of 2 competition events.

In the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded trophies, flags, medals, and cash prizes to teams, pairs, and individuals who won first, second, and third prizes. The total prize value was over 120 million VND.

More than 300 athletes participate in the Hanoi Open Club Table Tennis Tournament 2023.
