In today's operating period, the competent authority set aside the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5 RON92 gasoline at 191 VND/liter (previous period 228 VND/liter), RON95 gasoline at 139 VND/liter (previous period 180 VND/liter); diesel oil at 100 VND/liter (previous period 200 VND/liter); kerosene at 100 VND/liter (previous period 200 VND/liter); mazut oil at 100 VND/kg (previous period 200 VND/kg).
At the same time, do not spend the price stabilization fund on all gasoline and oil products.
Authorities said that the world oil market in this adjustment period (from June 12, 2023 to June 21, 2023) is affected by factors such as: Supply cuts from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its partners (OPEC +); Iran's oil exports and production increase despite US sanctions; the US Federal Reserve (Fed) decides to keep interest rates unchanged in the June 2023 adjustment period after 10 consecutive increases before; concerns about reduced energy demand due to weak global economic growth...
These factors affect the price of gasoline and oil, causing it to fluctuate, but generally increase.
Since the beginning of the year, gasoline prices have undergone 18 adjustments, including 9 increases, 6 decreases, and 3 unchanged.
Previously, on the afternoon of June 20, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien chaired a meeting with key petroleum trading enterprises to evaluate the results of the first 6 months of the year regarding the supply situation to the market and discuss solutions to ensure supply in the last months of 2023.
The Minister acknowledged that key enterprises generally strictly complied with legal regulations in the supply and trading of petroleum; many key enterprises have made efforts to operate and proactively overcome difficulties to supply petroleum relatively promptly and adequately to the distribution system.
Two manufacturing enterprises (Binh Son, Nghi Son) have made many efforts in operating and exploiting beyond capacity to supply the market with the committed output.
According to the report of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the total supply of gasoline from two imported sources and production in the first 5 months of 2023 reached about 9.779 million m3/ton (imports accounted for 42.64%, domestic production accounted for 52.36%) and the inventory was about 1.577 million tons/m3, meeting enough consumption needs and serving the production of people and businesses.
