World oil prices today
World oil prices fell sharply in today's trading session, August 31 (Vietnam time). WTI crude oil fell sharply, down to 73.65% USD/barrel, down 2.26 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 2.98%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 75.91 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 75.84 USD/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $77.05 a barrel, down $1.77 a barrel, or 2.25 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $78.82 a barrel and opened today at $78.91 a barrel.
Oil prices fell on Friday as investors weighed expectations of increased OPEC+ supply starting in October, along with fading hopes of a sharp US interest rate cut next month following data showing strong consumer spending, analysts said.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On August 31, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of August 29. Accordingly, the price of diesel oil decreased the most, by 299 VND/liter, followed by RON 95-III gasoline, down 208 VND/liter. Fuel oil decreased by 194 VND/kg, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 92 VND/liter. Kerosene decreased the least, by 84 VND/liter.

Discount prices of petroleum products today, August 31, at some domestic petroleum dealers are as follows:
Pvoil applies discount rates on August 31: Oil discount 1,400 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,350 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,250 VND/liter. This discount rate is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan warehouse.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on August 31 as follows: Oil discount: 1,350 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on August 31: RON 95 - III discount: 1,200 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,100 VND/liter; oil: 1,350 VND/liter at Mipec warehouse
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, petroleum prices may continue to decrease sharply.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 17 times. Oil prices have increased 16 times and decreased 18 times.
