The Ministry of Education and Training confirmed that the Math exam circulating online is not a reference exam for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.

Previously, a math exam document said to be a reference exam for the 2025 high school graduation exam was widely shared on social networks.

This test consists of two parts. Part 1 is choosing the correct answer. Part 2 is determining right or wrong and part 3 is short answer. There are 22 questions in total. Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the test.

Regarding the 2025 high school graduation exam, the Ministry of Education and Training recently presented 3 options to the Government. Option 1: 2 + 2 - candidates take 2 compulsory subjects: Math, Literature and 2 elective subjects (Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology).

Option 2: 3 + 2 - candidates take 3 compulsory subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 2 elective subjects (History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology).

Option three: 4 + 2 - candidates take 4 compulsory subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language, History and 2 elective subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology).

Of the three options mentioned above, the Ministry of Education and Training proposes to choose option one with the aim of reducing the pressure of exams for candidates, creating conditions for them to freely choose and develop their full potential and strengths in studying. At the same time, allowing students to choose 2 subjects for the exam will help them have a career orientation, ability and interests.

Chairing a meeting of the National Council for Education and Human Resources Development (Council) to discuss the Ministry of Education and Training's proposals on the plan to organize exams and consider high school graduation from 2025 on November 14, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha clearly stated that the number 1 goal of the exam is to assess the quality of general education training, while vocational training, colleges and universities need to be oriented based on the capacity, qualities and desires of students, not chasing after degrees and achievements.

The graduation exam plan from 2025 must follow the spirit of Resolution 29/NQ-TW on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training and the direction of the Government and the National Assembly, "in the direction of reducing pressure and costs for society while still ensuring reliability, honesty, and correct assessment of students' abilities, as a basis for vocational education and university education enrollment".

The Deputy Prime Minister and Council members proposed that the Ministry of Education and Training focus on investing in standardized test banks for all localities and regions, and develop assessment criteria in line with the implementation roadmap and goals of general education reform.

Regarding the 3 exam options, Council members believe that the graduation exam option must have a synchronous and systematic approach, starting from innovation in teaching and learning methods, the new general education program, new textbooks, teacher training, exam assessment... in the direction of increasing the proactive participation of local authorities, with schools as the center.
