Forecasts and recommendations from experts
At the end of the year and near Lunar New Year, the strong increase in demand for pork, especially from processing facilities and consumers, has contributed to pushing prices up.
Experts recommend that farmers sell pigs that have reached standard weight when prices are good to avoid future risks. At the same time, improving barns and strengthening disease prevention, especially in winter, is essential to ensure the quality of the pig herd.
Traders also need to pay attention to market developments and adjust purchasing strategies, while strengthening cooperation with large farms to ensure supply during peak periods.
Although the supply of live pigs is currently quite stable, prices may increase slightly near Tet, with forecasts reaching between VND68,000 and VND70,000 per kg. However, farmers need to be cautious and have appropriate management measures to optimize profits.
