Other provinces and cities keep the same price.

Pig prices have started to increase again since the end of 2023 and are currently hovering around VND65,000/kg due to a decrease in pig supply. In 2023, pig farmers, especially small-scale farmers, are quite hesitant to restock due to the continuous decrease in pig prices and high animal feed prices.

In addition, the reappearance of African swine fever has also affected the psychology of livestock farmers. In 2024, pork prices are forecast to remain high until the end of the year, animal feed prices tend to decrease, this is an opportunity for livestock businesses to improve profits.

According to the Department of Animal Husbandry, the number of livestock and poultry damaged by the recent storms and floods is very large and the damage is increasing every day. For flooded chicken flocks, it is necessary to remove wet and diseased chickens. Those that can be kept should have their bedding changed, the wind speed increased to dry the cage, and nutrition provided to increase resistance. Poultry has a short life cycle, so there is currently enough time to prepare supplies for the end of the year.
