Consumption situation during Tet holiday
As the Lunar New Year 2025 is approaching, the demand for pork is increasing. Businesses and supermarkets have prepared large supplies and implemented price stabilization programs to serve consumers.
In addition, pork prices at wholesale markets and retail systems are forecast to increase slightly due to strong demand for traditional products such as ham, sausage and nem chua.
Forecast and quarantine situation
In the coming time, the price of live pigs is likely to stabilize or increase slightly in some localities, depending on the increased consumption level. Farmers and traders need to closely monitor the market to adjust their business plans accordingly.
According to Cho Moi Animal Quarantine Station, every day there are about 3-4 vehicles carrying animals and animal products passing through the area, mainly departing from Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, Bac Ninh to transport to Bac Kan and Cao Bang.
The types of goods transported include livestock, poultry, and animal products. Most vehicles comply with quarantine and disinfection regulations.
Deputy Station Chief Ma Dinh Khanh said that the animal transport situation remains stable. In December 2024, only one violation was detected, and since the beginning of 2025, no additional cases have been recorded.
In 2024, the Station inspected 3,574 batches of animals and products, including more than 1.2 million livestock and poultry and 827,000 kg of products such as buffalo meat, pig's feet, pig's ears, and frozen chicken feet.
