The voice and sound recording application has appeared on the Windows operating system for a long time. However, Windows this application has had a significant change in name, interface and many other special features. This application was renamed by Microsoft to "Sound Recorder", instead of "Voice Recorder" as in previous versions of Windows.
If you are looking to use Sound Recorder to record audio on your Windows 11 laptop, follow the steps below:
Step 1: First, search for the keyword “Recorder”. In the list of results returned by Windows 11, click on Sound Recorder.
Step 2: At the main interface of the Sound Recorder application, in the bottom left corner, you can freely choose the recording device. Please select the correct microphone before starting the recording process if you use more than one microphone to connect to the device. After selecting the microphone to record, click on the Start Recording button with a red circle design or press the key combination "Ctrl + R" to start the recording process on the device.
Note: If this is your first time accessing Sound Recorder, please grant permission to the app before starting to record. Otherwise, you will not be able to record and the app screen will show an error message when you press the record button.
Step 3: After completing the recording process, click the Stop Recording button with a black square or the "Esc" key on the keyboard to stop recording.
Step 4: Now, a new recording file will appear on the left side of the Sound Recorder application. You can listen to the file again, rename, delete and share the file easily.
Step 5: You can also adjust the recording speed to suit your needs and recording purposes.
Step 6: If you want to customize the format and quality of the recording file (edit before recording), click on the three horizontal dots icon in the upper right corner of the application window, then go to Settings.
In the Recording section, you will see that the Sound Recorder application provides setting options for recording format in the Recording format section and audio quality in the Audio quality section.
