Garmin's new product line includes two versions: Forerunner 165 and Forerunner 165 Music, both equipped with a 1.2-inch AMOLED screen, combining touch and buttons, with a long battery life of up to 11 days when used in normal mode or 19 hours continuously with GPS (according to the company's announcement). The device is compatible with phones running Android and iOS operating systems, with the ability to display full notifications.
The Music version will add the ability to store music directly on the watch's memory, connect to Bluetooth headphones to listen to music without carrying a phone, or sync with playlists on the Spotify app.
The Forerunner 165 series is aimed at those new to running.
Equipped with smart features to measure and support movement, especially for those new to running, the device can calculate based on the user's goals and health status to provide an easy-to-understand daily exercise plan, and predict the completion time of stages 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, 42 km. Data such as pace, stride length, ground contact time... are all measured right from the watch on the wrist to improve running form. In addition to 25 popular sports, the Forerunner 165 series also integrates strength training, HIIT, yoga, pilates... to diversify training.
The Forerunner 165 series also has a series of sensors that measure health indicators on modern smartwatches such as measuring blood oxygen levels, scoring sleep to give advice to improve this process, automatically tracking and recording naps, heart rate/breathing index, stress level...
Along with the Forerunner 165 series, Garmin also introduced a new women’s HRM-Fit band, a new product in the company’s sports ecosystem. The device has the ability to monitor heart rate wirelessly, designed to provide advanced running metrics and improve the accuracy of heart rate readings.
The HRM-Fit belt is specially designed for women.
Users can clip this belt directly to their sports bra during use, without any tangles. HRM-Fit measures heart rate in multiple sports, both indoors and outdoors. Once connected to a compatible Garmin watch, the device will provide in-depth running analysis to improve technique. The product can operate and store data independently without a smartwatch nearby. The synchronization process will be performed after the user puts the watch back on.
The Forerunner 165 is available now for $299.99 for the standard version and $399.99 for the Music version. The HRM-Fit sensor is now available for $199.99.
In addition, with the orientation of expanding the market to "runners" who have just started running, this year Garmin Run Asia Series will be officially introduced in Vietnam through the Longbien Garmin Run event, where Garmin becomes the main sponsor of the 5 KM and 10 KM distances. The event will take place on October 27, 2024 in Long Bien district, Hanoi with a flat route, ideal for runners to conquer personal goals. Longbien Garmin Run 2024 is part of the Longbien Marathon, an official member of the Association of International Marathons and Distances (AIMS).
