Linking the Emulation Movement to Win with Patriotic Emulation

On September 4, the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 2 held the Emulation Congress for Victory of the Armed Forces of Military Region 2 for the period 2019-2024.

Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, presented flowers to congratulate the Congress.

Attending the congress were Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; leaders of the Provincial Party Committees and People's Committees of 9 provinces in the area of ​​Military Region 2 and nearly 500 delegates. Speaking at the congress, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet commended and congratulated the outstanding achievements of the armed forces of Military Region 2 and the advanced models and good people in the Emulation and Determination to Win movement over the past 5 years. At the same time, he requested the Party Committee, the High Command of Military Region 2, Party committees and commanders of agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the Party's policies, the State's laws, resolutions and directives of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on emulation, rewards and the Emulation and Determination to Win movement.

The Party Committee, the Military Region 2 Command, the Party Committees and commanders of agencies and units must strengthen education, raise awareness, responsibility, and correct emulation motivation, and arouse positivity and initiative among cadres and soldiers. It is necessary to make emulation truly a need and a voluntary and regular activity of each person and each organization with the spirit of "Everyone competes, every industry competes". At the same time, through the emulation movement, we can build strong Party Committees, Party organizations, agencies and units, cadres and soldiers who are truly exemplary, dedicated, and wholeheartedly serve the Fatherland and the people. Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet requested that units organizing the Emulation Movement to Win must closely follow the political tasks of the unit, the goals of socio-economic development, national defense and security of the locality; especially the thorough understanding and implementation of the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee (13th tenure) on the Strategy for National Defense in the new situation, Resolution No. 28-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Decree No. 21/2019/ND-CP of the Government on defense zones... Along with that, regularly and closely linking the Emulation movement to win with the patriotic emulation movement in the locality and other movements and campaigns; widely propagating and promoting the qualities and image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new period; actively participating in the prevention and control of epidemics, natural disasters, search and rescue, fire prevention and fighting... The forces actively help people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, promote gratitude activities, combine propaganda and mobilization to build a solid people's position, maintain political stability, and create favorable conditions for local socio-economic development.

The Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army suggested that immediately after the congress, the Party Committee, the Military Region Command and each agency and unit need to develop action plans and programs to concretize and successfully implement the directions and tasks of emulation and reward work in the next 5 years. In the immediate future, units need to well organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; actively prepare and organize Party Congresses at all levels in the Military Region Party Committee, towards the 12th Military Party Congress, and activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day in 2025.

On this occasion, the Military Region 2 Command commended and rewarded 42 collectives and 93 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to win and study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the period 2019 - 2024.
