Linking the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" with connecting and consuming goods and agricultural products

Over the past years, the Steering Committee of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in Thanh Hoa province has developed a plan to widely deploy the campaign in people's lives, associated with activities to introduce, connect, consume goods and agricultural products and the policy "Thanh Hoa people prioritize using Thanh Hoa goods".

Implementing Plan No. 33-KH/TU dated August 16, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on implementing Directive No. 03-CT/TW dated May 19, 2021 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over the movement "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in the new situation, every year, the Steering Committee of the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" movement of the province has issued a plan on implementing the movement associated with activities of introducing, connecting, and consuming goods and agricultural products in the province, to promote production and circulation of goods; build a chain of production, distribution, and consumption to ensure the quality of OCOP products...

Party committees, authorities, and Steering Committees at all levels have directed and guided the organization of conferences connecting domestic and provincial supply and demand of goods, creating a space for distribution enterprises and production enterprises to cooperate and promote the consumption of goods in the province, especially agricultural products and specialties of localities. Organize many trade promotion activities, exhibition fairs to introduce Vietnamese goods and OCOP products of the province; form distribution channels for Vietnamese goods in localities, contributing to bringing Vietnamese goods to consumers in the domestic market, building a modern civilized trade foundation... Strengthen the direction of solutions to implement the market stabilization program, contributing to the development of the distribution system, helping people access Vietnamese goods and goods of the province to ensure quality and reasonable prices; organize activities to encourage and support to increase motivation for Vietnamese enterprises such as: the voting program "Vietnamese goods loved by consumers", the contest "Smart consumer"...

Currently, Co.opmart Thanh Hoa Supermarket (Dien Bien Ward, Thanh Hoa City) is selling more than 20,000 items, of which more than 90% are Vietnamese goods. Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Director of Co.opmart Thanh Hoa, said: "Currently, the supermarket is importing fresh food, vegetables, meat, fish, sugar, beer, fish sauce and many OCOP products from major suppliers in Thanh Hoa province. Every year, at least twice, the supermarket organizes mobile markets in mountainous districts to bring Vietnamese goods that are rich, diverse in types and designs, guaranteed in quality, but at reasonable prices to consumers... to create positive changes in shopping habits, contributing to strengthening consumers' trust in domestic and provincial products".

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) Nguyen Duc Cuong, from 2014 to present, the DARD has advised the Provincial People's Committee to maintain the organization of annual conferences connecting supply and demand of safe agricultural and food products in Thanh Hoa province; the scale of organizing 2-3 conferences, 100-260 booths displaying and introducing products each year, attracting 100% of districts, towns and cities in the province and over 150 enterprises, cooperatives, production establishments inside and outside the province to participate, with 15-30 contracts for supplying and consuming agricultural products signed. Every year, the DARD also coordinates with departments, branches and localities to support 30-50 enterprises to participate in trade promotion activities organized by central ministries, branches and provinces and cities to connect agricultural product consumption, promote brands, expand product consumption markets, etc.

Promoting the implementation of the Campaign in conjunction with activities to introduce, connect and consume goods and agricultural products has helped many enterprises and cooperatives expand their consumption markets. Up to now, the whole province has had over 180 enterprises, 11 cooperatives and nearly 150 establishments producing, processing and trading agricultural products and OCOP products promoting and selling agricultural products and food on e-commerce platforms: Tiki, Lazada, Postmart.vn, Voso.vn... with over 50 different products. Products consumed through e-commerce platforms are estimated to reach about 25 - 30% of the sales output of enterprises. Currently, the whole province has 36 enterprises exporting agricultural products, with items such as: cassava starch, canned cucumber, canned pineapple, fish meal, frozen clams, surimi fish cakes... Total annual export turnover reaches 190-300 million USD...

The campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" has had a positive impact on the whole society, changing the awareness and actions of consumers and agricultural producers. Vietnamese agricultural products are increasingly focused on quality and design, and consumer benefits are also more concerned and guaranteed. In order for Vietnamese goods and agricultural products to reach a large number of consumers, localities and units need to organize and implement trade promotion activities suitable to the new situation to introduce products, connect producers with enterprises that purchase, process, export and consume agricultural products. In addition, it is necessary to promote the application of e-commerce, support agricultural exports, expand the consumption market for key agricultural products, specialty products, and OCOP products. From there, create a strong change in awareness and psychology so that producers and consumers have confidence in Vietnamese goods and prioritize the use of quality goods in the province and in the country.
