Celebrating 63 years of singing, famous singer Elvis Phuong made an album with songs by two late close friends - Nguyen Trung Cang and Le Huu Ha.
You can forget many things but not music.
Famous singer Elvis Phuong said that the Phoenix band was founded in 1968 but Elvis Phuong officially joined shortly after. The core members of the band included Nguyen Trung Cang, Le Huu Ha, Trung Vinh, Khiem Bass, with Elvis Phuong as the lead singer. The songs composed by the duo of musicians Nguyen Trung Cang and Le Huu Ha can be said to have lived forever with listeners of many generations.

The album celebrating 63 years of singing by famous singer Elvis Phuong includes familiar songs such as: "Bang khuang chieu noi tru", "Yeu em", "Con yeu em mai" and less popular songs such as: "Mat troi den", "Chieu ve", "Hay ngua mat nhiem doi", "Phien khuc mua dong", "Hay nang den chan"... This is the third album of Phuong Hoang Love Songs by famous singer Elvis Phuong. The previous two CDs were made and released in the US, but this product was recorded, made and officially released in Vietnam for the first time.
Sharing the reason for making the album, Elvis Phuong said: "I am still passionate about the memories of my youth with my friends from the same era, the same age, and most importantly, the songs that have followed Elvis Phuong throughout his 63 years of singing. The album took a lot of time because I wanted to sing these famous songs again and arrange the order so that it would be meaningful. Every time I sing, I always feel like I am singing with Ha, Cang and the brothers in the band back then."
"The 'young' music of youth. Who doesn't love and miss their youth? Even though time has passed, the most important thing is that now, Elvis Phuong feels extremely happy to still be loved by the audience with the songs of two close friends" - Elvis Phuong expressed.
Throughout Elvis Phuong's musical career, there has never been a show where Elvis Phuong was not requested by the audience for songs by Nguyen Trung Cang and Le Huu Ha such as: "I want", "Love each other on a rainy day", "Legend of the girl"... Elvis Phuong boasted: "I still sing regularly. Usually, every time I go on stage, I have to perform about 10 songs or more. There was a show where I sang up to 15 acts. A bandmate was surprised that I was so "strong" and remembered the lyrics so well. I can forget many things but not music".
Choose the funniest things
After more than 6 decades of singing, Elvis Phuong still spends a lot of time researching and renewing his songs. He said: "I perform French and Vietnamese music in many genres, including rock and roll. And I always have to renew my songs. That is how I respect my audience and my work. When I sing someone else's famous song, I find ways to divide the sentences and pause the rhythm so that the song has a climax. I think my efforts are rewarded when my tea room performances always have audiences coming to support me."
Having escaped death 36 years ago after a heart surgery, singer Elvis Phuong has made health his top priority. He said he is lucky to always have his wife, Le Hoa, by his side, taking care of his every meal and sleep.
"I regularly exercise, practice breathing, and walk for more than an hour every day. I don't eat fatty meat because I'm afraid of increasing my blood cholesterol. I only eat fish, chicken, and vegetables. Sometimes, people tell me they're surprised that Elvis Phuong's face and body are no different from decades ago. I think it's thanks to my efforts, nothing comes naturally," he said.
He confided that the life of an artist will include both praise and criticism. We cannot try to explain all the criticism around us. But we can choose the most joyful things to follow. And most importantly, we "live right" is enough.
"For over 63 years, I have been singing non-stop because there are still people who want to listen. I accept all invitations, regardless of distance or remuneration" - Elvis Phuong confided.
