Duy Manh had a traffic accident and withdrew from the Vietnam national team.

Do Duy Manh cannot join the Vietnam national team's training session to prepare for the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia. The reason why the 1996-born defender had to withdraw close to the training session date has just been announced by his home team, Hanoi FC.

Accordingly, Duy Manh was injured in a traffic collision on the evening of November 5. He collided with a motorbike going in the opposite direction and suffered a bleeding foot. Duy Manh was taken to the hospital to have the wound stitched.

This is not a serious injury. However, the Hanoi FC player needs at least 2 weeks to heal before returning to training.

With Duy Manh withdrawing, Coach Troussier called up additional central defender Bui Tien Dung of Viettel Club. The number of players in the Vietnam team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers this November is still 32.

The absence of Duy Manh is a loss for the Vietnamese team. Through three training sessions in June, September and October, Duy Manh has shown his ability to head coach Philippe Troussier. The player born in 1995 is trusted in the role of right-sided central defender. His strengths are his fiery spirit, his fearlessness in contact and his ability to organize and deploy the ball from the back.

Before Duy Manh, Coach Troussier did not have the services of Nguyen Quang Hai and Doan Van Hau. These two players were injured, in which Van Hau suffered a pain in his heel and had to rest from 3 to 6 months.

In this training list, Coach Troussier left out some veteran players who regularly played for the national team under Mr. Park. These names could include Nguyen Thanh Chung, Nguyen Phong Hong Duy, Ho Tan Tai or Nguyen Cong Phuong.

The French strategist gave opportunities to young players in all three lines such as Luong Duy Cuong, Phan Tuan Tai, Vo Minh Trong, Nguyen Thai Son, Khuat Van Khang, Hoang Van Toan, Nguyen Van Tung, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Dinh Bac.

Mr. Troussier will reduce the list to 28 players before going to the Philippines (November 13). The team will finalize 23 players to participate in the match with the host on November 16. On November 21, the whole team will return to My Dinh Stadium to meet the Iraqi team.
