Vietnamese tourists receive more than 600 million VND from travel insurance

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu (Quang Binh) was paid 637 million VND in hospital fees by the insurance company, after a trip to Israel in mid-May.

Ms. Dieu and more than 40 people from Vietnam went on an eight-day pilgrimage to Israel. After four days of staying, Ms. Dieu developed a high fever, fell into a coma, and was taken to the hospital. This tourist spent six days on treatment, with hospital fees totaling VND637 million.

She said that being hospitalized in a foreign country with extremely expensive medical expenses was quite a shock. However, the whole group had previously registered for international travel insurance provided by TransViet Travel Company, provided by Global Insurance (GIC), which helped her to somewhat resolve the burden of additional costs and feel secure in her health recovery treatment.

"Immediately after receiving the information, the insurance company instructed me to compile the compensation file and quickly process it so that I could be paid for medical treatment costs in Israel," Ms. Dieu shared.

Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, the insurance company also prepared an ambulance to take the customer to Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital for further treatment.

The insurance package Ms. Dieu participated in was provided by Global Insurance (GIC), the amount of 637 million VND was awarded on July 11 at the company's Head Office (Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Ward 4, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City).

At the insurance benefit payment ceremony for Ms. Dieu, Mr. Hoang Quoc Cuong - Director of Business Development and Marketing of GIC said that participating in international travel insurance will help customers reduce the pressure of costs due to unexpected incidents during the trip.

"The prompt and full insurance payment of medical treatment costs in Israel for Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu is a testament to GIC's commitment to customers. Through the ceremony, the company hopes that more customers will realize the importance of and always equip themselves with international travel insurance before their trips," said a company representative.
