(CLO) The Vietnam Press Development Project for the 2020-2024 period has successfully implemented more than 30 activities, reaching more than 15,000 managers and press reporters nationwide, with a total budget for activities of nearly 17 billion VND.
On December 25 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Information and Communications held a conference to review the Project "Developing Vietnamese journalism for the period 2020-2024". This is a strategic program, supporting the sustainable development of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, creating conditions for the country's press to integrate with the general development trend of the world.
Accordingly, the project's outstanding activities focus on intensive training courses, equipping digital transformation skills, using modern technology, writing skills, using images and professional interviews.

For example, the 2023 Journalism Economic Forum with the theme “Digital transformation to increase the competitiveness of newspapers” discussed new economic models and creative solutions for newspapers to survive and develop in the context of strong changes in the digital media ecosystem. To date, the project has published 12 books and handbooks on journalism and media.
At the Conference, the Press Department introduced the Press Digital Transformation Strategy to 2025 and the Prime Minister's Directive on strengthening policy communication. The Press Department has developed a Handbook on Press Digital Transformation and a Handbook on Policy Communication, aiming to build press agencies in a professional, humane, and modern direction; fulfill the mission of information and propaganda to serve the Party's revolutionary cause and the country's innovation cause; ensure the role of leading and orienting public opinion, and maintain information sovereignty in cyberspace...
After completion, the electronic versions of the two policy communication handbooks and the digital transformation handbook will be provided on the electronic information portal of the Ministry of Information and Communications at mic.gov.vn and of the Press Department at cucbaochi.gov.vn, so that relevant units and individuals can look up and refer to them to serve policy communication work as well as digital transformation of the press.
