The nearly 57 km long inter-regional road project, connecting the three provinces of Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, and Lam Dong, with a total investment of VND1,900 billion, broke ground on the afternoon of March 1.
The project is a grade 3 mountainous road, starting at the intersection of National Highway 27C (Khanh Vinh District, Khanh Hoa Province), ending at the intersection of DT.656, Bac Ai District, Ninh Thuan Province. The entire route is mostly located in Khanh Hoa Province. The roadbed is 9 m wide, with 2 lanes and is expected to have 17 bridges. The design speed is 60 km/h, with the dangerous and difficult sections being 40 km/h to ensure safety.

Of the more than 1,900 billion VND invested in the project, 1,000 billion VND is from the central budget, the rest is from the local budget. The route is expected to be completed in 2027.
The project aims to eliminate the monopoly of Provincial Road 9, creating conditions for economic and social development of the two mountainous districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh in Khanh Hoa province. At the same time, the project also helps increase the connection of this locality with Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong, promoting socio-economic development between the three provinces.
