During the 2-week training session in the Czech Republic, the Vietnamese women's team "tested the waters" against 3 opponents. Coach Mai Duc Chung's team won 2 victories against 2 Czech clubs. Huynh Nhu and her teammates defeated FK Pardubice with a score of 6-0 and Viktoria Plzen with a score of 3-0. Before that, the Vietnamese girls traveled to Germany to compete with the RB Leipzig women's club and suffered a 0-2 defeat.
Commenting on the last 3 matches, coach Mai Duc Chung said: "In the first match, the German club RB Leipzig is a very strong team. However, partly due to the long distance traveled by car, the Vietnamese women's team could not keep up with the competition conditions, so their coordination was not good. The Vietnamese women's team lost 0-2, but still created situations where they could score."

"In the second match, we won 6-0. In this match, I made adjustments in all positions, creating opportunities for the players to show their skills and through that, the coaching staff can also evaluate the players more carefully. I am most satisfied with the match against Viktoria Plzen. Not about the score but about the team's playing style. The players knew how to promote their own strengths, the whole team's and the Vietnamese people's strengths such as low passing, quick coordination... to compete with opponents with bigger bodies such as low passing, quick coordination. That is what I am most satisfied with. Besides, the players also boldly shot. There were some very good long-range shots with coordination", Mr. Mai Duc Chung added.
Training trips in a European country with good training conditions and fields will help players develop themselves. Coach Mai Duc Chung commented that the physical strength of the Vietnamese women's team members has improved a lot and they gradually understand each other better, so their playing style is more coherent. Mr. Chung shared: "The players know how to move at the same time. I think this training trip was successful and I would like to thank the leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation for creating conditions for the team to go to Europe to train and compete with opponents who are better in terms of expertise and physique. From there, the Vietnamese women's team can learn."
Coach Mai Duc Chung assessed that the Vietnamese women's team had a successful training trip.
In order to prepare for upcoming international goals, as well as create momentum for the team's rejuvenation process, in this training session, coach Mai Duc Chung and his colleagues summoned many young players, especially players from the U.20 age group. "The young players have integrated with their seniors, and their physical strength has gradually improved. Although the time is quite short, I have also planned exercises and adjusted the intensity so that the young players can catch up," said the head coach of the Vietnamese women's team.
Besides the positive points, coach Mai Duc Chung also wants the players to overcome some points in the coming time such as ball handling, passing, observation ability...
The training trip of the Vietnamese women's team in the Czech Republic received the attention of many overseas Vietnamese fans living and working here. Coach Mai Duc Chung expressed: "The team is very grateful to the overseas Vietnamese in the Czech Republic for coming to cheer for the matches despite the rainy weather. The team's spirit is also high thanks to everyone's support."
The Vietnamese women's team will return home on September 15 and is expected to land at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) on the afternoon of September 16.
