In order to implement Directive No. 33 dated May 29, 2023 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee "On strengthening the Party's leadership in ensuring traffic order and safety; preventing and combating accidents, injuries and drowning; managing and educating children and students during the summer in the province" and the Plan to organize the 2023 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the Youth Union, Association and Team at all levels in Quang Ninh province have been promoting practical and effective activities, models and solutions to prevent accidents, injuries and drowning for children, especially during the summer.
The content of preventing accidents and injuries for children has been thoroughly disseminated by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee to all grassroots youth unions, associations, and teams in implementing summer activities in 2023. Each commune, ward, and town unit established at least 01 youth shock team, quick response, participating in supporting propaganda work and handling situations of accidents and injuries, drowning among children; installing warning signs, building barriers at rivers, streams, and dangerous areas; organizing training courses on prevention of drowning, accidents and injuries, and child abuse, improving rescue work for nearly 1,000 officers in charge of children and children in residential areas at 13 district-level units.
The province organized 138 free swimming classes for more than 4,000 children; 177 summer activity spots in villages and residential areas with rich content, suitable for each age; enhanced coordination between schools, families and authorities, organizations and unions in managing, supervising and guiding children to play safely, healthily and usefully.
Along with that, in the first 6 months of 2023, the Youth Union and Young Pioneers at all levels in the province mobilized and socialized the construction of 36 new playgrounds and the repair of 32 playgrounds for children. In the summer of 2023, the Youth Union of 13 districts, towns and cities in the province simultaneously organized more than 300 talent classes, hobby clubs, and life skills classes, attracting thousands of children to participate.
Also in the summer of 2023, experience programs, summer camps, and skills education programs for children will also be invested in by all levels of the Youth Union, such as: "Military semester", "Learning to be a police officer", "Journey to know, learn to live", "Summer adventure, learning to be a farmer" ... to equip children with safety skills, self-protection; prevent accidents and injuries to children. Currently, in the province, there are more than 300 talent classes, hobby clubs, and life skills classes attracting thousands of children to participate.
According to comrade Nguyen Phuong Thao, Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union Council, Youth Union - Youth Union chapters across the province have fundamentally innovated the scale, content and form of summer activities in a diverse and rich direction, suitable to the actual conditions of each locality and unit; promoted coordination with families as well as related units to guide children into useful and meaningful activities, preventing drowning, injuries and child abuse.
With the active preparation of the Youth Union, Association, and Pioneer organizations at all levels in the province, the youth and students in the province promise to have a safe, joyful, healthy, and rewarding summer.
