The Vietnamese women's futsal team won the international friendly tournament in Thailand (NSDF Women's Futsal Championship 2024) with an impressive record of remaining undefeated through 4 matches.
Before this match, the Vietnamese women's futsal team had made an impression with 3 consecutive wins, including a convincing 3-0 victory over China to help the team open the door to the championship. Because on the opening day, the home team Thailand unexpectedly lost to China, so in this match, the Vietnamese team only needed a draw to meet the requirements.
With a strong force and home field advantage, Thailand approached the match very well when they quickly attacked the Vietnamese team's field. In the first 10 minutes, the Vietnamese players organized effective cover and marking before creating a turning point in the match in the 10th minute. Captain Thanh Hang opened the scoring for the Vietnamese team after a deflected shot from Jiraprapa Nimrattanasingh changed direction into the home team's goal.
The goal was considered important as it helped the Vietnamese players feel more comfortable mentally under the pressure from the home team right from the start of the match. After conceding a goal, the Thai players continuously threatened the Vietnamese goal, but the enthusiasm and determination of the Vietnamese players repeatedly discouraged the home team's strikers.
In the 15th minute, the Thai girls' efforts were rewarded with Sangrawee's precise volley from outside the box from the left wing. Two minutes later, Vietnam had a chance to take the lead again when they were awarded a 10-meter penalty for Thailand's sixth foul. On the direct free kick, captain Thanh Hang's shot unfortunately hit the post. But in the first seconds of the first half, Thanh Hang made amends with a rebound from the middle to put Vietnam back in the lead.
In the second half, the Vietnamese team was under a lot of pressure from the home team. However, after 19 minutes of play, the Vietnamese women's futsal goal was still protected from attacks from the Thai women's futsal team. In the last 35 seconds of the match, Thailand successfully equalized 2-2.
With the above results, the Vietnamese women's futsal team won the Championship Cup with 10 points. Second place was the Chinese futsal team with 9 points, and third place was Thailand with 7 points.
