Uong Bi Enterprises: Bustling production in the last days of the year

On December 22, Viet Thuan Transport Company Limited launched the cargo ship VIET THUAN 05 - 01, design code S51 - 01/06, with an investment value of over 2,000 billion VND, ready to be put into operation in early January 2025. This is one of many very encouraging movements of the business sector in Uong Bi City in 2024, a year considered difficult for the business community.

Storm No. 3 (Yagi) made landfall on September 7, causing Uong Bi to suffer losses of about VND3,200 billion, of which 57 enterprises suffered losses of 20% to 60%, with total estimated losses of about VND1,450 billion, accounting for more than 45% of the city's total losses. Overcoming difficulties, entrepreneurs and enterprises in Uong Bi city have promoted their will and spirit of overcoming difficulties, playing a pioneering role in the local socio-economic development. After the losses, enterprises quickly embarked on reconstruction, persistently and tenaciously overcoming difficulties, quickly restoring production and business activities, maintaining jobs for workers, contributing to social stability and development.

Viet Thuan alone has continuously launched new products. As a private enterprise (located in Quang Trung ward, Uong Bi city) with a very large production scale, Viet Thuan has developed with many production and business categories. In 2024, Viet Thuan completed the construction and launched 3 international waterway transport ships, thereby accelerating the progress of the project to build 6 new SB cargo ships of the unit, including 2 ships with a capacity of 23,100 DWT and 4 ships with a capacity of 11,000 DWT, serving the unit's cargo transport plan in the following years. Also in 2024, Viet Thuan is the enterprise that won the World Cruise Awards ( the world's best green cruise line) under the prestigious global award system World Travel Awards. This is also the first cruise line in Vietnam to be awarded this award.

Along with Viet Thuan these days, the atmosphere of labor competition in production at Da Bac Logistics Company is taking place vigorously, from teams to workshops. The 90-day and night competition campaign was launched from October 1 to December 31, 2024, with the goal of exceeding the production and business tasks of the fourth quarter and the whole year of 2024. With the theme "Promoting the tradition of Discipline and Unity", "Double the difficulty, triple the effort", Da Bac Logistics Company aims to end 2024, the unit will consume 11.7 million tons of coal, of which the fourth quarter alone will reach 2.8 million tons, the amount of coal purchased from the mines is 2.5 million tons.

Up to now, the whole city has over 700 enterprises, of which over 130 small and medium enterprises were newly established in 2024. Most of Uong Bi enterprises have made efforts to maintain and develop production. From developing enterprises, they have created jobs and income for many workers in the area, contributing to improving the quality of life of people and contributing to the state budget, contributing to social and charitable activities in the area.
