Việt NamViệt Nam13/09/2024

In the North, businesses are focusing on repairing damage after the storm, while in the South, they are working hard to increase supplies to areas affected by storms and floods.

Both during and after the storm, ensuring essential goods for people is one of the top priorities. At this time, while localities in the North are focusing on overcoming the damage after the storm, localities and businesses in the South are also making every effort to increase the supply of goods to areas affected by the storm and flood.

Businesses work overtime to increase production, but the only thing they reduce is prices. Up until now, businesses - which are supposed to put profits first, now for them, the interests of people in flood-hit areas are the top priority.

Sausages of all kinds and canned foods are all groups of products that have increased slightly in demand in recent days. Because these are all groups of essential products and necessary for flood relief activities, Vissan Company has increased production by 20%. This is to meet the relief needs and to prepare for any shortages in the Northern region.

Mr. Phan Van Dung - Deputy General Director of Vissan Company said: "We have a factory in Tien Son Industrial Park, Bac Ninh, which is operating 24/7 to fully meet the demand. In addition to the factory in Bac Ninh, we have increased the goods from factories in the South by transporting additional goods from the North in some areas with local shortages. Currently, our own goods have covered the market with up to 20 days of sales, so from a market perspective, we are not worried about shortages."

Not only are businesses willing to work overtime and increase production, they also pledge that commodity prices will not fluctuate.

Ms. Ly Kim Chi - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association said: "Regarding prices, we can keep them stable." price stabilization, the second thing is that goods and raw materials in stock can be sufficient to supply.

Regarding dairy products, Vinamilk said that the company is capable of supplying 1,500 tons of goods per day. Along with supporting about 3 billion VND of essential nutritional milk products for 10 provinces and cities affected by storms and floods, the company guarantees that goods will always be delivered smoothly.

"Every day we maintain 6 transport units, which means 10 containers from the South to the North plus local production. In addition, not only relying on the distribution capacity of distributors but also with the company's network and distribution, we are ready to mobilize or coordinate with transport units and warehouse suppliers to respond to any affected locality", said Mr. Nguyen Trung - Supply Chain Director - Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company.

Not only are they committed to keeping prices stable, many manufacturing businesses are also willing to share profits. Essential items such as sausages, canned goods or milk that are provided as relief for people in flood-hit areas are also sold by businesses at more favorable prices than usual.

The shelves in the supermarket are always fully stocked to serve people's needs.

From sausages, canned foods, noodles or milk and even vegetables are being transported on trucks from the South to the North. At this time, according to the information we have received from the Departments of Industry and Trade in the Northern provinces, goods are being supplied fully and promptly.

In Hanoi, the amount of goods on supermarket shelves not only serves the essential needs of the capital's residents, but also provides a source of goods for Hanoians to participate in relief efforts for provinces and cities with more damage, especially in mountainous areas.

Local retailers are also joining hands to subsidize essential goods, especially vegetables and fruits.

The supermarket has just imported vegetable orders from Da Lat as well as transit warehouses in Binh Duong to serve consumers. Due to the high demand for these items recently, the supermarket has had to continuously import goods and at the same time have subsidized policies to support consumers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung - Director of Co.op Mart Hanoi Supermarket said: "The amount of goods we import to the supermarket every day is 3 to 5 times larger than normal days and especially when the demand of shoppers is even greater, we have prepared a quantity of goods from Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat to go overnight. Currently, we are reducing the discount program, especially for Da Lat vegetables, we are directly reducing 20% for consumers".

Supermarkets say that due to the nature of fresh products, which need to be preserved from transportation to storage, all employees are working at full capacity these days to ensure that no shelf is empty of fresh food.

"We have seen the speed of shopping and we have also worked on pre-orders with suppliers so that we can deliver additional orders, maybe 1-2 hours in advance. If we run out, we will notify them to add more. Our system has created zalo and online groups on social media to discuss shipping for customers a lot," Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc - Director of BRGMart supermarket 120 Hang Trong shared.

"Fresh vegetables have clear origins, stable prices and a full range of vegetables, nothing is lacking," said Ms. Chu Thi Luong, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.

"Meat and fish can be lacking for a few days, but of course vegetables and fruits must be used. Generally speaking, these days, vegetables in supermarkets are still as diverse as usual," said Mr. Vu Tuan Nam, Ha Dong district, Hanoi.

Not only in Hanoi, but all supermarket systems have available plans, ready to supply to the northern mountainous regions.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Deputy General Director of WinMart Chain said: "Wherever we open the road, we have goods there. Therefore, we are preparing a large amount of goods to serve business activities in Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang and other provinces. Especially when the peak of the storm occurs, we immediately organize forces to be on duty at the supermarket to sell goods until the last hour."

For vegetable growing cooperatives facing difficulties in transportation, supermarket systems also said that they always arrange vehicles on standby to promptly support farmers in processing and transporting to cold storage, ensuring uninterrupted supply of vegetables and fruits.
