With hundreds of businesses from around the world participating, the Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2024 attracted a large number of visitors on the opening day. Many visitors were especially excited to try candies, vegetables, wines... from various countries.
On November 13, the Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2024 - Vietnam Foodexpo 2024 (taking place from November 13 to 16) chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade opened in Ho Chi Minh City.
This is considered an important international trade promotion event, with the largest scale in the field of food industry, agriculture and fisheries in Vietnam.
Vietnam Foodexpo 2024 has 500 booths of nearly 400 businesses from many provinces and cities of Vietnam and over 20 countries and territories.
Major global food purchasing corporations from countries such as Germany, Spain, Italy, European Union countries, Russia, Japan, Korea, China, India, Thailand, etc. are present in Vietnam.
Notably, this year the European Union is the guest of honor at the exhibition, presenting more than 200 products from all 27 member countries.
According to the opening day, many visitors came to visit and trade. In particular, many Vietnamese visitors were interested in trying a variety of products from other countries such as: vegetables, candies, European wines; rice cakes, ice cream, Korean ginseng; rice, seaweed, dipping sauces, Japanese spices...
In addition, Vietnamese food products and specialties such as vermicelli, noodles, fruits, vegetables, candies... at the exhibition also attracted a large number of domestic and foreign customers.
"We are delighted to showcase the value and diversity of European food and beverages at Vietnam Foodexpo 2024. The EU pavilion highlights the EU's commitment to high-quality, safe and sustainable products," said Julien Guerrier, Ambassador of the European Union to Vietnam.
Speaking at the exhibition, Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, said that in the coming time, the industry and trade sector will focus on supporting Vietnamese food enterprises to grasp the trend. At the same time, it will transform the production chain to meet the standards of green production, green export, and sustainability.
Thereby contributing to improving the competitiveness and position of Vietnamese export goods in the international market.
The organizers also designed a dedicated area for National Brands with more than 40 booths displaying typical Vietnamese products.
Reality shows that Vietnamese food and beverage products have gradually met strict international standards, green technical barriers, Halal standards... and are widely present in many markets.
Thousands of contacts and transactions
At the exhibition, the organizers said they will design many business connection activities and related seminars. It is expected that there will be thousands of direct contacts and transactions between Vietnamese enterprises and domestic and foreign buyers and investors, with the expectation that many large-value contracts will be signed.
