Before working with the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee, the delegation inspected some flooded areas in My Bang commune (Yen Son) and Tuyen Quang city; visited, encouraged and gave gifts to people affected by storms and floods, and those in difficult circumstances.

At the working session, reporting to the Central Party Secretariat's working delegation on the situation of storms, floods and the work of overcoming the consequences, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son informed: Due to the impact of storm No. 3 and heavy rain causing floods, the whole province has 101 deep flooded areas, causing traffic jams and seriously affecting the lives and activities of the people; Thac Ba Hydropower Plant in Yen Bai province bordering Yen Son district is in an emergency situation, the amount of water flowing into the lake is greater than the amount of water released; the Lo River dike in Quyet Thang commune, Son Duong district is broken; 3 bridges are damaged; more than 14,568m3 of soil and rock are eroded; the traffic system, irrigation works, electricity and telecommunications networks are also severely damaged, currently many places still have power outages, phone signals are lost...

The storm and flood killed 2 people, 1 person went missing; 3,546 houses had their roofs blown off and were flooded; 3,468 hectares of rice and 1,091 hectares of corn and vegetables were damaged; the whole province evacuated 3,989 households; preliminary damage was over 270 billion VND.

Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet requested the Party Committee, the government and the entire political system of the province to continue to make efforts and be determined to overcome the consequences of storms and floods, thoroughly implementing the "4 on-site" motto, in which it is necessary to focus on rescuing people, to anticipate situations, not to be subjective, to proactively evacuate people to safe places, to find ways to reach isolated people in places, not to let people go hungry or cold. After the flood, it is necessary to do a good job of epidemic prevention and control, environmental sanitation, to quickly return activities to normal, especially schools, medical facilities and promptly support difficult cases...

Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet also requested that forces under Military Region 2 continue to be ready with personnel and means to help people when needed.
