(Bqp.vn) - At the invitation of the Ministry of National Defense and the Turkish Defense Industry Agency, from May 19 to 25, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense delegation led by Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, attended the 4th SEDEC Defense and Security Fair in Ankara, Türkiye.

After attending the opening ceremony of the fair, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense delegation worked with General Metin Gurak, Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Army; Turkish Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler. General Metin Gurak also attended the working session with Minister Yasar Guler.
At the meetings, leaders of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense and Army expressed their welcome to the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense for sending a high-ranking delegation to attend the SEDEC Fair this time, thereby contributing significantly to the success of the fair as well as promoting cooperation in the spirit agreed upon by the two countries' senior leaders.

On this occasion, the leaders of the Turkish Ministry of Defense and Army expressed their gratitude for Vietnam sending a rescue team to participate in the rescue and relief efforts after the earthquake in February 2023 in southern Turkey; affirmed that the two sides still have great potential for cooperation and expressed their desire to promote cooperation in the defense sector, including defense industry, training, and experience sharing.
Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son thanked the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the Turkish Army, the agencies and the Organizing Committee of the fair for their thoughtful and respectful reception of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense delegation; highly appreciated the friendly relations and good traditions between the two countries and shared the efforts to rebuild the earthquake-hit areas in early 2023. Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son asked the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the Turkish Army to create conditions for Turkish defense industry enterprises to participate in displaying products at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.
