Infrastructure development
The wide, spacious roads are a dream come true for the people of Thanh Ha. The transportation infrastructure is well-developed, with roads such as Hung Vuong, 28/3, Nguyen Tat Thanh, Dien Bien Phu, and Cam Kim Bridge connecting Hoi An, Dien Ban, and other communes and wards within the city. The average per capita income in Thanh Ha is currently 70 million VND/person/year.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Dung, a resident of Cam Nam ward who settled in Trang Soi block, Thanh Ha ward, shared: “We have been here for 25 years. Back then, life was very difficult, both materially and spiritually. But now, our lives are stable and gradually developing.”
In Thanh Ha, over 22km of concrete roads have been constructed; 5.2km of irrigation canals have been built, along with tens of billions of VND invested in constructing fishing wharves, fish markets, and renovating the pottery village. The Thanh Ha Industrial Cluster, covering over 30 hectares, is located within the area. Established in April 2015, it has currently attracted 40 businesses and establishments that have registered and invested in production and business activities.

Hoi An City is also carrying out detailed planning for the construction of a residential area along the extended Dien Bien Phu road, combining commercial services with complete infrastructure and a public square.
Many socio-economic and tourism infrastructure development projects are also being implemented. Notably, people are looking forward to the completion of the planned Tourist Reception Center and public parking lot project, along with several hotel, resort, villa, and homestay projects, including Hoi An Royal Park which comprises residential areas, shophouses, a hospital, a school, and a park…
Mr. Nguyen Van Nhat, Chairman of the Thanh Ha Ward People's Committee, said: "Besides calling on investors to carry out urban beautification, Hoi An has passed a Resolution to relocate the city's welfare infrastructure to Thanh Ha, such as the Cultural and Sports Center, Hoi An Hospital, and the 22-hectare Thanh Ha Service Urban Area,..."
The local authorities are also renovating the interior of the traditional pottery village, especially improving the quality of tourism services, attracting tourists, and creating jobs for the villagers.
Dynamic urban planning
According to the revised master plan for Hoi An City until 2035, with a vision to 2050, Hoi An's planning zone III includes the entire area of Thanh Ha ward and Cam Ha commune to be developed into a new urban and rural development zone.

“This area covers a total of over 1,319 hectares and will be a mixed-use urban center with medium building density and height. At the same time, it is a new urban area that will help alleviate pressure on the existing historical center and create a new focal point for a dynamic and modern Hoi An city in the future,” Mr. Nguyen Van Nhat added.
This area is planned to include a multi-functional cultural park complex spanning approximately 105.6 hectares, serving as a new focal point for Hoi An City. It will also act as a buffer zone, connecting the old town and the new town, linking the urban area and the river.
In Thanh Ha ward, there will also be a planned industrial, research, service, and urban complex including a hospital and a sports center west of 28/3 Street.
The city limits the maximum building height in Thanh Ha ward to 9 stories to be compatible with the heritage city of Hoi An, while also contributing to the efficient use of land resources and reserving a portion of the area for parks and green spaces.
“According to the revised master plan for Hoi An City, which will be approved soon, Thanh Ha has significant potential for development. It will be developed into a modern urban area with larger architectural scale, higher elevation, and more open development space than the inner city areas. Therefore, Thanh Ha needs to leverage its advantages for future development,” said Mr. Tran Anh, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Hoi An City.
