TPO - The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said that to serve the opening ceremony of the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival taking place on the evening of May 31, the Department will adjust traffic on 19 roads and 2 bridges in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, during the festival, some roads will also be restricted for all types of vehicles.
Specifically, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on May 31, to serve the opening ceremony of the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival, the Department of Transport will prohibit all vehicles from traveling on the following 19 routes:
Le Loi Street (from Dong Khoi to Pasteur); Nguyen Hue Street (from Le Thanh Ton to Ton Duc Thang); Dong Khoi Street (from Mac Thi Buoi to Ton Duc Thang); Ton Duc Thang Street (from Nguyen Sieu to Khanh Hoi Bridge); Vo Van Kiet Street (from Ho Tung Mau to Ton Duc Thang); Ngo Van Nam Street (from Nguyen Sieu to Ton Duc Thang); Nguyen Tat Thanh Street (from Khanh Hoi Bridge to Hoang Dieu); Ham Nghi Street (from Ho Tung Mau to Ton Duc Thang); Hai Trieu Street (from Ho Tung Mau to Nguyen Hue); Nguyen Thiep Street (from Dong Khoi to Nguyen Hue); Huynh Thuc Khang Street (from Ho Tung Mau to Nguyen Hue); Ton That Thiep Street (from Ho Tung Mau to Nguyen Hue); Ngo Duc Ke Street (from Dong Khoi to Ho Tung Mau); Mac Thi Buoi Street (from Dong Khoi to Nguyen Hue).

In addition, during this time, vehicles are also prohibited from circulating on the routes around the Me Linh Square roundabout, including: Ngo Duc Ke Street (to Dong Khoi Street), Ho Huan Nghiep Street (to Dong Khoi Street), Phan Van Dat Street (to Mac Thi Buoi Street), Thi Sach Street (to Dong Du Street), Hai Ba Trung Street (to Mac Thi Buoi Street).
In addition, authorities will also ban vehicles from crossing Ba Son Bridge and Khanh Hoi Bridge.
To limit traffic impacts during the closure of the above routes, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has also proposed alternative traffic routes as follows:
+ Direction from Binh Thanh District to District 4: Nguyen Huu Canh → Ton Duc Thang → Nguyen Du → Chu Manh Trinh → Le Thanh Ton → Pham Hong Thai → Nguyen Thi Nghia → Nguyen Thai Hoc → Ong Lanh Bridge → Hoang Dieu → Nguyen Tat Thanh (District 4).
+ Direction from District 4 to Binh Thanh District: Nguyen Tat Thanh (District 4) → Hoang Dieu → Ong Lanh Bridge → Nguyen Thai Hoc → Nguyen Thi Nghia → Cach Mang Thang Tam → Nguyen Thi Minh Khai → Xo Viet Nghe Tinh (Binh Thanh District).
+ Direction from Thu Duc city to District 5: Vo Nguyen Giap (Thu Duc city) → Dien Bien Phu → Dinh Tien Hoang → Vo Thi Sau → Ba Thang Hai → Le Hong Phong (District 5).
+ Direction from District 5 to Thu Duc city: Le Hong Phong (District 5) → Dien Bien Phu → Vo Nguyen Giap (Thu Duc city).

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport also noted that during this time, due to the fireworks display, the authorities also prohibit all types of vehicles from stopping and gathering to watch the fireworks on bridges near the fireworks display site to avoid affecting traffic and order in the area. In addition, the authorities will also restrict traffic on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street (from Tan Thuan Bridge 1,2 to Hoang Dieu Street) to avoid traffic congestion.
- From June 1 to June 2 and from June 7 to June 9, traffic on Ton Duc Thang Street (from Nguyen Sieu Street to Khanh Hoi Bridge) in District 1 will be restricted to accommodate water sports activities.
- From June 1 to June 9, traffic on Hoang Sa Street and Truong Sa Street (from Dien Bien Phu Bridge to Thi Nghe Bridge) in District 1 will be restricted; from June 4 to June 10, traffic on Ben Binh Dong Street (from Cha Va Bridge to Kenh Ngang Bridge No. 2) in District 8 will be restricted to serve the "On the Wharf, Under the Boat" space.
- From 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on June 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9, traffic on Ton Duc Thang Street (from Nguyen Sieu Street to Khanh Hoi Bridge), District 1 will be restricted to organize parade activities on the river.
