According to the People's Committee of Nam Tra My district, the whole district currently has about 2,000 households participating in growing medicinal plants, with an average of 60 - 70 hectares of various medicinal plants planted each year. The area and number of households growing Ngoc Linh ginseng in 7 communes in the planning area have increased significantly with more than 1,500 households and more than 1,650 hectares.
The district continues to do a good job of preserving, developing and producing Ngoc Linh ginseng seedlings at the Tac Ngo ginseng seedling farm. In 2023, this unit will supply 5,000 plants to 2 communes; support 1,000 plants for people in Tra Vinh commune to plant on a pilot basis, with good results.
In the period of 2022 - 2023, Nam Tra My district prioritizes supporting 1-year-old Ngoc Linh ginseng plants for 1,695 households with 103,333 plants. The quality and origin of ginseng seeds are strictly controlled.

Through assessment, Resolution 09 creates favorable conditions for Ngoc Linh ginseng growers in particular and precious medicinal plants in general, through supporting 80% of the seed purchase price; helping ethnic minorities in the district exploit their potential and strengths to develop the economy, increase income and sustainably reduce poverty.
However, there are still some difficulties in approving unit prices to serve as a basis for determining percentages for people; the use of unfriendly materials is still difficult to control; erratic weather and climate changes cause great damage to ginseng plants... Therefore, the locality recommends continuing to supplement and perfect the mechanism and remove difficulties.

At the working session, many opinions of the monitoring delegation stated that Nam Tra My has not yet made a general assessment of the implementation of Resolution 09 in recent years, specifically the impact of the resolution on the increase in area and poverty reduction rate of the locality. The district has also not effectively implemented the mechanism for other medicinal plants; many obstacles and difficulties have not been proactively resolved by the locality.
Opinions also suggest that it is necessary to change regulations on the age of ginseng seedlings to increase cultivation efficiency, because currently the ginseng supply is 1-year-old plants, which are difficult to adapt to and grow best in the new environment... Provincial departments need to continue to research and plan specific medicinal plant growing areas for localities to increase efficiency in the spirit of Resolution 09.
