With the viewpoint that "Building new rural areas has no stopping point", communes in Quynh Phu district focus all resources on implementing the criteria for building advanced new rural areas, thereby creating a new look, becoming a bright spot in building new rural areas in Thai Binh.

The face of the countryside is increasingly changing
After more than 12 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, with the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels and the consensus and response of the people, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh province has achieved positive results.
The face of the countryside is increasingly changing, infrastructure and socio-economy are upgraded, new rural areas are developing in a modern direction, and material and spiritual life is constantly improving. By the end of 2019, 100% of communes had completed the construction of new rural areas, the district reached the new rural area target in 2019 1 year earlier than the Resolution of the District Party Committee. Since then, the whole district has had 6 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards.
To develop an increasingly modern rural transport system to meet people's travel needs and socio-economic development, attracting investment from businesses, one of the things that Quynh Phu district is interested in is building infrastructure. And the bright spot of Quynh Phu is the movement of people voluntarily donating land to build roads.
Many households have implemented the movement to build advanced new rural areas, voluntarily contributing land use rights to the State to build roads. The whole district has had 4,117 households voluntarily donating land with 347,354 m2 of land (50,757 m2 of residential land; 296,597 m2 of agricultural land) with a value of over 462 billion VND to build rural roads.
Many households donated 100-200m2 of residential land worth 1-2 billion VND, some donated more than 1,000m2 of residential land, some donated agricultural land when the road passed through... Many households, although the road did not pass through, were willing to donate thousands of m2 of their agricultural land to carry out site clearance.

The project to upgrade DH72 road in Quynh Phu district is nearly 18km long, of which the road through An Thai commune is more than 1.7km long, this is the most important traffic route of the commune. Therefore, upgrading and expanding the road not only makes the appearance of An Thai new countryside more spacious but also opens up great opportunities for the locality to develop trade and services.
Having identified that, the local Party Committee and government have focused on leading and directing the people to agree and respond to donating land for the road. After only 2 days of Quynh Phu district implementing the site clearance, 100% of households in An Thai commune where the road passes through voluntarily demolished their houses and surrounding walls, saving the State budget tens of billions of VND.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thu's family is one of the typical examples, leading the movement of donating land for road construction when they voluntarily donated land in the surrounding wall so that the traffic project could be deployed and constructed soon.
Mr. Nguyen Van Doai, An Thai commune, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh province, when local officials mobilized and propagated about new rural construction, he understood the value that would bring to the local economy and his family. His family donated 30 square meters of land to respond to the movement of donating land to expand the road.
One commune one product
OCOP is one of the criteria in the set of advanced new rural criteria for the period 2021-2025 of Thai Binh province. Recently, Quynh Phu district has directed sectors and localities to create conditions for cooperatives and business households to be trained, transfer science and technology, and support loans to develop production, promote products, and develop consumption markets through fairs, exhibitions, and display booths.
The program "One Commune One OCOP Product" has initially achieved results, with 9 establishments with 11 products recognized as OCOP products (4 4-star products, 7 3-star products); many self-management models on environment, waste classification, security and order models, production models... have been agreed upon by the people and effectively implemented.
With the Chrysanthemum Tea product of Dong Tam Medicinal Agricultural Products Cooperative, An Dong Commune, to be recognized as a 3-star OCOP product in 2022 is a great effort of 7 members of the cooperative. Previously, the cooperative's products were only distributed to the market in the form of raw materials. With the attention and close direction of local authorities at all levels, especially the support of the Farmers' Association of An Dong Commune, the cooperative has boldly invested in developing in the direction of modern agriculture, bringing high-quality products to consumers.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phat, Vice Chairman of Quynh Phu District People's Committee, said: Determining that building a new countryside is a regular, continuous process with a starting point but no ending point, after the district reached the new countryside finish line in 2019, it did not stop there. The District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee continued to lead and direct localities to complete and improve the quality of criteria and focus on directing the construction of advanced new countryside.
The program of building advanced new rural areas is a correct policy, suitable for reality. To achieve the above results, it is necessary to closely follow the determination of Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the high consensus of the people in implementing the criteria. With many new and creative ways, by 2024, the district strives to have 50% of communes meeting advanced new rural standards, making the image of Quynh Phu hometown a brilliant piece in the vivid picture of the Vietnamese countryside.
