(NLDO) - A group of students riding motorbikes on the North-South Expressway were ticketed for violating traffic laws and could be fined up to 78 million VND.
On the afternoon of January 30, Road Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 4 (Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security) announced that it had issued a ticket for a group of teenagers riding motorbikes on the Nghi Son - Dien Chau highway.
According to the authorities, the group of violators could be fined for 6 violations, including: not obeying the orders of traffic controllers, entering the highway, not wearing a helmet, not having a driver's license, not having a vehicle registration, and giving the vehicle to an unqualified person for the vehicle owner. The total fine for the 6 violations mentioned above for the group and teenagers is expected to be about 78 million VND.
Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, on January 29 (the first day of Tet), a group of young men and teenagers appeared on the highway from Thanh Hoa to Nghe An, driving at high speed, without helmets, removing their license plates, violating traffic laws. When they saw this group, many vehicles driving at high speed on the highway had to swerve to avoid them.
Upon receiving the information, the Traffic Police Team 4 reported to their superiors for advice and received approval to make an arrest plan. At around 1:15 p.m. the same day, at the Dien Cat intersection (Dien Chau, Nghe An) on the Nghi Son - Dien Chau highway, the task force successfully arrested the group of people.
Upon inspection, all 6 vehicles had their license plates removed and were left in the trunks of motorbikes. The drivers were unable to present all documents related to the people and vehicles. There were a total of 11 young people and teenagers, most of whom were secondary and high school students in Thanh Hoa province.
Initially, the group of students admitted that they went to the pagoda together at the beginning of the year, but due to taking the wrong route, they entered the highway. The reason for removing the license plate when entering the highway was because they were afraid of being caught and fined by the traffic police while traveling.
